Ghost01ParticipantIts pretty simple, look at the boxscore. They arent playing bad players anymore. They went with 8 guys, The PG duo of Bibby and Chalmers which is mediocre at best combined to play 43 minutes, and the big 3, Anthony, Miller, and Haslem are all good basketball players. Wasting defensive possessions with James Jones or Ilgauskas on the floor was costing this team.

esperanzafleet69Participantboth jones and illgauskus spaced the floor really well for the heat, and jones filled a huge role that miller did for the time he was injured…
and i think u meant to say "their" potential in the title..

TRC1991Participantim not going to lie, ilgauskas is awful, and having haslem back was a huge get

surveParticipantUmm, I think they are very good with Jones in the lineup. Getting Haslem back, unquestionably huge, but the Heat need Jones and Miller.

TallmanNYCParticipantBasic point is right though. A team of three big stars but a weak bench is better suited for the playoffs when you know you are getting at least a full day’s rest between games and sometimes four or five days between series. You can just ride the big three and shorten to an 8 man rotation. Bulls’s deapth is not as helpful and especially since there are some arguments that three guys on their bench Korver, Asik and Gibson are better than the Bulls starters that they replace. (I know some people are going to get worked up about that statement. Look Gibson is definitely better at defense than Boozer. And you might be surprised but Asik is also playing better defense than Noah and it is kind of a wash on offense since neither does much there. I’m not saying I would change the lineups, I’m just saying that Gibson and Asik are coming on strong this year and especially this playoffs, while Boozer and Noah haven’t been consistently great (though Boozer has had some big games recently)).

kobyzParticipantyeah, why all of a sudden James Jones stop getting minutes, he has been very good for the Heat this playoff?

Ghost01Participantkobyz- because of defense. He isnt a good defender. If Mike Miller does what he did in game 4, hes essencially a way better version of James Jones.
And i wasnt only talking about Ilgauaskas and James Jones. This season, Dampier, Howard, Magloire, House have all seen the floor. Thats not good basketball.
