myers3425ParticipantI just wanted to bring up a talented ture freshman that is putting up quality numbers so far this year. Alec Peters is a true freshman for Valparasio from the small town of Washington, IL. I watched this kid play all through high school and knew he could play but I’m kinda shocked at how well he is playing so far. He did turn down offers from a few bigger schools for the oppurtunity to play all for years. He stands 6-8 and weighs 225lbs. This kid will be a four year college player but with what he has done so far I just wonder if he could end up putting numbers up similiar to Mcdermott. For the year so far he has avg. of
Alec Peters FR
PPG-15.3
REB- 5.1
AST- 2.1
STL- 1.1
FG%- .511
3PT%- .492
FT%- .773
Doug Mcdermot FR YR
PPG- 14.9
REB- 7.2
AST- 1.2
STL- .03
FG%- .525
3PT%- .405
FT%- .746
There numbers are very similiar to each others as true freshman both playing in leagues that are similiar in competition level. Remember Mcdermott was in MVC not the Big East as a freshman.
