Random Question of the Day: Will LeBron James become just as big as Magic Johnson in business ventures off the court, once he hangs it up?

     Similar.

Not as beloved or as charismatic.

Probably has his own style. Would be kinda cool if Magic and LeBron had some business ventures together.

I bet LeBron has investments everywhere and will keep expanding his empire.

What I THINK will happen: LeBron will own an expansion team at some point. Possibly Las Vegas.

    LeBron thinks BIG.

Maybe he and Magic do a Showtime Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Oh wow! I LOVE that idea! I need to tweet/email those guys!

I don’t think Magic gets nearly enough credit for what he’s achieved after his playing career. He not only created a business empire worth, according to Wikipedia, $700 million, he did it by catering to underserved, lower-income communities, bringing things like movie theaters and Starbucks franchises into those neighborhoods where previously no one thought they could succeed.

Combine that with all he did to de-stigmatize HIV/AIDS in the ’90s, and I really think he is one of the greatest Americans of his generation.

I like it because he is using his platform while still active in the league, which only leaves to believe that once he has the free time on his hands, he will do some things to make the term legendary an understatement.

I think he becomes bigger and it won’t even be close. And Magic is my favorite player of all-time. Think about it..Bron invested in:

    • Beats By Dre..made a profit of 30 Mil
    • Invest 6.5 Mil in a soccer team..his share now worths 32 million
    • Blaze Pizza..which has been growing like wild fires
    • Klutch Sports agency…they say he dont own a piece but I’m calling BS.
    • Spring Hill Entertainment..has produce numerous shows on tv and has a ton in the works
    • Lifetime contract with Nike

And he did all this while playing and living in Cleveland..imagine what he’ll accomplish now that he’s in LA??

He might in terms of total revenue, but in a relative sense he’ll never come close. James is probably close to a billionaire off of salary and endorsements alone. Magic made less off of those two in his entire career than James made last season, and he still turned that money into multiple successful business ventures. James would have to be Elon Musk to even come owe in a relative sense.

LeBron should focus on acting after his career. He is already one of the best floppers of all time. He was also actually pretty funny in Trainwreck.

When you step back & look at what Magic has accomplished in his Life – & he is Not even that old – And where Magic started

U can really make a case that Magic is one of the Greatest Americans of the last 50 years

And I believe Lebron is on the same trajecotory – I dont know if Lebron can match what Magic did in Business but I really believe Lebron has a brilliant mind & I think entertainment is the next world Lebron wants to conquer

I believe Lebron will use that as a Spring board into Politics & I honestly believe if Lebron goes into Politics b/c he can not be bought & he might actually bring the country together again

Magic has certainly made good investments or has been smart enough to employ the right people to look after his investments.

LBJ likewise hopefully has the right advisers and will continue to make huge endorsement money years after he has retired like Magic and MJ have. Magic’s career finishing years earlier than planned possibly made him concentrate more on his financial situation and his health diagnosis would have caused him to refocus his life.

Would LBJ consider buying into a team possibly yes – MJ hasn’t had the on court success with the Bobcats that he might have hoped for but the value of his investment is doing very nicely. Whether LBJ would have the desire or the means to buy a majority share in a team I don’t know. But certainly as a joint investor especially in any expansion team then I could see that happening.
