How is it ok for them to post an article like this? People always say they want racism to die, but then they bring up something like this

It sells papers. They don’t care that their efforts actually promote racism in the process. Apparently, an NBA roster with only 33% black players (5 of 15) is a sign of racism in America today–so serious the media and NAACP need to get involved… unbelievable.  This kind of nonsense makes people get really tired of race discrimination claims–to the detriment of legitimate claims of racism.

I remember Danta Cunningham saying that 1 morning before his 1st practice with the TWolves, him and some of the white players got in the elevator,he asked where was everybody? lmao….Cunningham aslo said the white players on their team are just as good & athletic as some of the black players and they belonged in the league…

The TWolves have only 5 black players on the team,a rarity these days, but who cares?

Yeah, it’s not like they are choosing to have white players when there are better black players available; it’s Minnesota, they are hardly going to have their pick of free agents, if white americans and europeans are the best players they can get, I don’t see anything wrong with that – especially when they’ve put together a pretty damn solid roster while they were at it.

All of the signings the Wolves made improved their team, if Love and Rubio were healthy they would be looking to try and make noise in the west playoffs this year. They were not able to bring in multiple black players whom they pursued so it seems to some as a ploy with such an unusual roster. I believe that saying they are trying to sign white players so fans will come is both short-sighted and jaded. Why would people support a team more simply because they are white? Do they actually think that NBA fans, who are used to a diverse cast of players, really care about the % of white players on their team and would base their support for their team upon that? As far as I am concerned someone who would let the race of a player decide if they like them is not who I want comeing to my arena; I would hazard to say this is how most people feel as well. The fact that someone would accuse the Wolves of racial profiling for profit saddens me, because it shows the double standards that exist still in our culture and it illustrates how hastily drawn opinions can be a destructive force.

I was reading an article this morning ,that said the local NAACP was investigating the team….To see what was behind this racial inbalanced roster…I think the NAACP have more important issues to think about, then worrying about how many black basketball are players on a team…

But i dont think Khan is intentionally looking to add only white players….I’ve heard a few people that have said they think he’s experimenting with the European style of play…A few years ago people were complaining saying he had too many point guards on the roster…Nobody really knows Khan’s intentions but Khan..

They could be blue or glowing green for all I care. As long as a guy can play it shouldn’t matter one bit what ethnicity he is….that article is such a joke.

NAACP getting involved is an embarrassment to their organization. Lou Aumundson, JJ Barea, Chase Budinger, AK47, are pretty good athletes.  It’s an embarrassment that this is an issue to anyone.

Brandon Roy put it best, "its just basketball" when they step on the court they will be stepping on as a team. Not as white guy, not as a black guy but as teammates.

I am from MN, and the city is going crazy for their Wolves now, they haven’t had this much excitement for this team in a long time. And this excitement is not from the color of the players, its from the talent. We haven’t had a team this talented since the Big ticket was feasting in the Target Center, Spree had enough money for his family and Sam I am was heating up the mid range J.

Maybe this has emerged becasue in current days this is a form of culuture shock? We have not seen a team with this many white players since 1980 (according to the article, i have no idea), and i personaly have never seen it, so its weird, or not considered normal.

But I wouldn’t be suprised to see the % changes for all, as a result of international competition and the NBA helping turn basketball into a worlwide sport, and arguable the second most popular sport in the world. The pool is big in the NBA, and the players are more diverse then the color of thier skin "shows".

This kinda stuff is interesting to talk about, sorry for the rant.

    Anyways go wolves

What stooge got paid to look at the registered ethnicity of each player on every team for the past 32 years.  That has to be the worst job you could have.  So the Wolves have some white players…does the NAACP remember that they did everything in their power to get Batum this summer.  Do they know that they made KG the first $100 million player in history? Pooh Richardson, JR Rider – do any of those players matter? What a crock to try and make a story out of nothing.  They should be looked into because they haven’t had any Asian players so that must be racist too!
