Mr. BasketballParticipantMakes no sense. They couldn’t win before with the suns, and now they want to go try again without nash? makes no sense. amare should go to miami.

festar35ParticipantJoe Johnson is a better player than when he was in Phoenix, but that team will be a play-off team, definately not a Championship team.

Mr. BasketballParticipantimo, amare is not as good and nash was the mvp then so thats a big drop off

mamadouParticipantNo PG, no C, no coach, not sure they’ ll be better than the nets.
Terrible mistake for stat, could find a way better team and more money elsewhere but i think he ‘ll stay at home or come back home.0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/27/2010 - 10:38pm #343038
johnecoParticipantIt’s not the best possible scenario for the Knicks, but if Lebron/Wade/Bosh don’t want to sign, that’s their best remaining option. What would you propose the Knicks do in that situation, do you have a better alternative? It’s still an improvement over last year’s team.

khaled_a_dParticipantThey can be a play off team with those players
will they get a ring with them?NO,but I am sure that they will appreciate not to be a lottery team anymore0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/27/2010 - 10:51pm #343040
mj23bullsParticipantit’s gonna be fun to see what happens this week when free agency starts. a lot of people think lebron and Chicago are a done deal, I think that might be true. I’m hoping the knicks can lure him away, but i really think its doubtful. i think rudy gay would be a better addition over joe johnson if they don’t land lebron. since you’re most likely not going to play for a championship, why sign joe johnson who is older, when you can sign rudy gay to a max contract and he’s younger. i know rudy is a sf, and jj is a sg, but if i were calling the shots, i’d sign gay over johnson.

johnecoParticipantwait, your name is mj23bulls, but you’re hoping the Knicks can lure away Lebron???

omphalosParticipantBelieve it or not, not every Bulls fan wants LeBron to come to Chicago. I think it could be a big mistake for the Bulls to get LeBron when they have a superstar in Rose. Better to spend that money on one of the available PFs and Joe Johnson to fill their needs and allow Rose, Noah, Deng and said free agents to grow together into a dynasty for years to come. LeBron is one of the most ball-dominant players in the history of the game, and while he might fill up a stat-sheet I don’t see you winning a championship with one player taking a shot or making the pass every single time down the floor.

joecheck88Participanti agree, i dont want to see lebron as a bull. I want to see them get amare or bosh and a couple of shooters at the 2(like kyle korver or ray allen).

Wrong there best option is to stockpile draft picks and rebuild from the draft.

joecheck88Participantbest option is too rebuild through the draft but they dont have their picks until 2013(1st round picks anyway) if they cant get lebron, they should get a pf not david lee but amare or bosh. then try to sign melo next year. and on top of that they have to draft well with the picks they do have.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantJoe Johnson-Amare Stoudemire-Gallo-Chandler?
That’s a good 1-4 options. It’s not the best but it’s good. With that, we could shop E.Curry’s contract maybe and look for a PG. Like if we do the Curry-Chandler-2011 1st rounder for Collison and Okafor?
Collison-Johnson-Gallo-Stoudemire-Okafor?
Scary.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantTrinajoe, I’m sorry but your the 2nd person to do that.
If you don’t know the Knicks pick situation- Stop talking about about it people. They have the 2011 1st round pick, not the 2012 1st round pick.

IndianaBasketballParticipant@knicksboy32
How do you feel about the Knicks’ plan to offer Joe Johnson a max contract on Thursday?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/28/2010 - 6:11am #343112

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantDo I love it? No. But you know what, I’ll take it if we can get Johnson and another good player with him.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/28/2010 - 6:16am #343116

IndianaBasketballParticipantJohnson is a great player, 3rd or 4th best two guard in the league, but… I don’t think he’s worth the max. He’s about to be significantly overpaid, plus he’ll be 29 at the end of June.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/28/2010 - 6:36am #343131
knicksfan7ParticipantYeah, giving Johnson a max offer for 5 years is a lot, but he’ll be good for the first 3 or 4 years of it. Right now the Knicks need to first make the playoffs before anyone even thinks about anything beyond on that. Once they make the playoffs then they will attract players. They also need to hire Kevin Pritchard so the team can actually draft good players.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/28/2010 - 6:50am #343142

IndianaBasketballParticipantNot only will Kevin Pritchard draft good players, he’ll actually keep the draft picks lol.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/28/2010 - 6:53am #343143

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantKevin Pritchard or Chris Mullin seems to be the potential replacement for Walsh in 2011.
Maybe the Knicks could use the 2-3 mil that have saved over and add a nice point guard like Steve Blake or Jordan Farmar. If we get Johnson, he would be the “playmaker” in the offense so we could use a nice shooter at the PG position for him.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/28/2010 - 7:04am #343153

Charlie SheenParticipantIf they sign Johnson and Stoudemire they would need to just add some post defense another shooter and a PG to run D’Antoni’s offense heres my scenario
C- Stoudemire /Chandler
F- Villanueva/Thomas
F- Gallinari/Walker
G- Johnson/Morrow
G- Ellis/DouglasSign Johnson 5yr/75mil- Stoudemire MAX-trade Curry’s expiring deal to Detroit who would do it to get under the cap for Carmelo if he doesn’t sign an extension for Villanueva- sign Chandler at the MLE-Trade Wilson Chandler to Golden State for Monta Ellis- Sgin Anthony Morrow as the other shooter and sign Tyrus Thomas at the MLE to bring energy off the bench they would have some room left
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/28/2010 - 7:06am #343155

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantNO. Amare needs a defensive Center next to him.
Also, I hate Charlie V, he’s a good player for a losing team. NO THANK YOU

dahoodrecruiterParticipantgo after bosh!!!!!!!! not amare ,,,,,then try and get both player rudy gay and joe johnson
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/28/2010 - 8:06am #343192

NYCrealdealParticipantrather overpay gay then JJ
and why would JJ get max after he just slept through the whole playoffs0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/28/2010 - 8:19am #343196

dahoodrecruiterParticipantthe nets would sign boozer and gay,,and still have sum change left over to throw sum money @ a dead eye shooter ray allen
devin harris pg
ray allen sg
rudy gay sf
boozer pf
lopez cnot a bad starting 5 and can be a 7 th or 6th seed in east conf next season
