joe2324Participantlast year, I hated this team and couldn’t sit threw a single game because of lack of effort, sloppy play and just a sense of apathy from the team. This year, it doesnt matter if they finish below 500 and miss the playoffs, I enjoy watching this team play because they hussle and they’re not trying to tank(they have nothing to tank for but anyway) I just want to say as a knick fan, i’m very pleased with the job Phil has done so far and hope he gets a few more years as GM.

BleedGreen808ParticipantAt first I wasn’t sure about Phil running the Knicks but he rebounded with a great draft and offseason. Adding Porzingis, Grant, Afflalo, O’Quinn, and Lopez really improved the talent on the team.

omphalosParticipantYeah people who complained about the Knicks sucking in the only year they keep thrir own draft pick were being pretty short-sighted when assessing Phil’s instincts as a GM.
I full exprct them to make the playoffs next year.

SubZeroParticipantIt’s hilarious how people hated on Phil as GM saying it was a horrible hire, but now no one says that anymore. Not many people could’ve made this team rebound the way it has

OhCanada-ParticipantSeems like Porzingis has adopted Melo’s poor shot selection. That maybe something Fisher wants to monitor. They need a PG badly. Calderon’s best days are behind him, Galloway is more of a combo SG, and Grant has been very bad. Also the bench has a huge drop in talent level and defensive effort.

HitsterParticipantThe Knicks need to add some bench depth next summer and a quality Pg is a most, A top PG would help to spread the floor and give Melo, Affalo and Porz quality shoting opportunities

Memphis MadnessParticipantWhat about Ricky Rubio?
Not the best shooter, but a guy who can pass and get guys easier shots. He can also defend and rebound some. I also think he would be a BIG HIT in New York City.
He’s lack of shooting touch wouldn’t be as much of a problem if they went small with KP at center and Carmelo at the 4.
The Knicks might be able to get him by trading Jose Calderon, Jerian Grant, Lance Thomas, and a second round pick.
The Knicks would lose some depth, but they would have Carmelo, Porzingas, Aflalo, and Derrick Williams as targets for Rubio’s passing.
The T Wolves get to roll the dice on a young point guard in Jerian Grant. Calderon helps them out now as a ball handler who can shoot. Lance Thomas offers depth at the 3.
The T Wolves would also save some money. Then they still have their own picks at 6 (have a shot at top 3) and a second rounder at 36. So they could get Kris Dunn as their point guard making Jerian Grant a good backup.
I would like to see a Knicks lineup of Rubio, Aflalo, Carmelo, Derrick Williams, and Porzingas. That would be fun to watch.

eXKaliberParticipantI would argue the Knicks biggest problem is the Triangle Offense. Based on their personnel, they definitely seem more suited to a pace and space/pick N roll style offense. They are currently ranked 23rd in pace (per basketball reference) which seems ridiculous considering they have Galloway and Grant, two young non-shooters who could get some easy buckets via the fast break.
With the evolution of the game over the last couple of years, I think the triangle would only be a viable option with perfect personnel. As the Knicks roster currently sits, a shift to a more "modern" nba offense could pay immediate dividends for a team that is offensively destitue.
