    Truly remarkable.

    Great coaching

    Great chemistry

    Great bench

    Great shooters

With Sefolosha and Carroll ailing, Kent Bazemore gets an opportunity to show he can be that wing slasher they need.

Atlanta the favorite to win it all?

    It’s only Feb.

I definitely think they’re a contender and should be taken seriously. I’ve been extremely impressed with the way they play at both ends. I’ll be watching their next few games against the Pelicans, Wizards, Warriors and Grizzlies.

And their defense has played very well. that’s the most important improvement of this team, as defense still wins championships.

Ive never seen a run like this from a team without a hall of famer on it. They have been mindblowing.

However I still think the playoffs comes down to star power. Coaching and system can cover you for a round or two, but in the conf finals, you need a hall of famer. There is nothing even resembling a hall of famer on the Hawks.

I think the Cavs, Wiz, and a healthy and mentally right Bulls team can outlast the Hawks in a series.

OF course, they may never lose again either.

You’re right there’s no true hall of famer on this team, but I think before it’s all said and done Paul Millsap might have a chance to get into the HOF. He impressingly seems to get better and better, all while being "undersized" for his position. The man can seriously do it all.

If Al Horford wasn’t so injury prone he probably could have had a shot at the HOF, but I think his chances are slim at this point. Kyle Korver is another one who has a legit chance to get in, simply because he’s one of the best shooters of all time.

NO WAY Korver gets into the hall…not when a player like Big Shot Robert Horry who was a top notch defender and also hit numerous game winning shots in the playoff & in championship games will never make it…..

First off I said potential, not that I think he’s a lock by any means. Secondly, Horry was known for being clutch but that’s about it, he was nowhere near Korvers level of shooting.

Korver has played roughly 300 less games than Horry did, and yet already has 1000 more points than Horry does.

          Korver vs. Horry shooting percentages:

          Field Goal %: Korver (.443) Horry (.425)
          Three Point %: Korver (.433) Horry (.341)
          Free Throw %: Korver (.882) Horry (.726)
          Effective FG%: Korver (.567) Horry (.484)

Robert Horry was a lucky player, lucky to hit game winning shots and lucky to end up on great teams, but he is an inferior shooter to Korver. Korver may not be a good defender but he is one of if not the best shooter of all time. There are plenty of players who had one dimensional games that made the HOF. Again, he’s by no means a lock, he does have his flaws, but to say "NO WAY" is ignorant when you’re referring to a legendary shooter.

wow!! manute bol a legendary shot blocker and micheal cooper & tony allen legendary defenders would love it if voters had your criteria for getting getting into the hall..

and like those guys korver makes a positive impact to his team when he’s on the floor…..carroll and teague 3 point % goes up when he’s on the floor and drops when he’s not..

but korver hasnt have enough accomplishments and havent done it long enough to even be considered a what you’re calling a potential hall of fame career..

If he cntinues his hot shooting and Atlanta wins a title,I think he’s HOF material. That would be historical performance

Manute Bol was definitely a great shot blocker, but he only played 624 games. Which ends up being roughly 7 and a half seasons. That kind of sample size is way too small, and is probably what held him back. As for Cooper & Tony Allen, unfortunately defense isn’t really a stat. Even if you look at their SPG & BPG they’re relatively low.

It’s funny you mention Korvers lack of accomplishments, but he’s now an All Star, and none of the players you mentioned ever have been. It’s obvious you just don’t like Korver.

                ok,i see what u did there…lmao

but korver is currently my 2nd favorite hawk after the kid from germany……back in 2003 i felt he should’ve went higher than he did… having 1 great year doesnt qualify you for an automatic entry to the hall..its based on what you’ve done for an entire career….thats how guys like 1 dimensional players like adrian dantley got in,they consistently posted outstanding numbers over the span of their careers..and like i said before korver havent done e-nough or long e-nough…..

if korver can maintain those numbers of 50/50/90 for maybe the next 5 yrs, he should be in..

Honestly to me they’re still underrated. Everyone that starts a discussion to explain why the hawks won’t make it past the second round say “because the teams playing like they do” oh wait,No team has ever played that well, that way, that long in the last 10-15 years. So we basically have no idea how they’ll fare in the play-offs. People don’t realize that during the 19 game winning streak, they had a double digit lead 18 times, and they led after 3 quarters 18 times as well. Sounds like a dominating team to me. And by the way, halfdecayed, agree 100% I don’t know why and it’s not only on this site, the wizards are given more credit than anyone,as,to me (like I said in another thread),they’re the “worst” team of the top 5 today. I’m afraid they will even be the odd one out in the first round of the Playoffs.

While they may not win it all, it is great to see that a team is proving that you don’t need a top 10 NBA player to be an incredible team. Just an all around great team with great chemistry and coaching. Budenholzer seems to have learned a lot from his time with the Spurs.
