princejamesParticipantMarcus Smart
I Just love is overall talent, advanced skill level, and very high basketball I.Q. The game comes very easy to him, and he has a knack for making the right play at the right time. He also tough, versitile, a winner, and can play multiple positions, but will most likely have more success as a point guard, where he can have the ball in his hands to be a great playmaker, passer, and decision maker. I think that he will also surprise people with his underated athleticism, strength, and ability to utilize very good footwork, balance, and bodycontrol when posting up and attacking defenders off the dribble. I think he’ll catch nba scouts attention with his craftiness and ability the play the game of basketball the right way and in a very efficitient manner that will lead to many wins for the oklahoma state cowboys
NBA Comparison
Best Case Scenario: Jimmy Jackson
Wost Case Scenario: Dominique Jones
Also I think Lorenzo Brown has more potential as a point guard because of his great athleticism ( I’ve seen lorenzo jump and get his head at rim level ), great passing skills, and great ball handling skills. But I think that Marcus Smart great combination of mental and physical toughness will make him a better pro

princejamesParticipantHis style of play is similar to those guys, but marcus also has point guard skills to compliment his ability to potentially play the point guard position at a very high level

SiggyParticipantI wouldn’t say that he has advanced skills. He’s a good and willing passer, but his handle is not that good and neither is his shooting. He’ll be playing the point this year because he’s probably the best decision maker and has the best leadership skills on his team, but I think it’ll take him at least 2 yrs to complete the transition to the 1. He can protect the ball with his strength, but his breakdown ability needs a lot of work.
I don’t agree with the Jimmy Jackson comparison because Jimmy was a superb scorer. Marcus is more of a facilitator, playmaker and swiss army knife than a scorer. He’s smaller, but his style of play is more similar to an Iguodala type. He’s got some Tony Allen in him as well.
Overall, he’s a hard guy to project because he’s more of a super intangibles guy than a skill guy.

OnionsParticipant3-4 year player, imo.
But I watched him quite a bit this past summer and he grew into my favorite player of the class. He reminds me so much of D Wade, it’s insane. Not saying he ends up close to that good (because he probably won’t), but he has a similiar type of game.
That one game against Bazz at the Adidas whatever… He shot like 1-15 in the first half and I came away feeling he was clearly the most talented player on the court. Then in the second half he destroyed Bazz and his team. On defense and offense… He had like 15 rebounds in the second half alone.
