GoodbyeChandlerParticipantWith Joel Embiid’s injury in consideration, the talented prospect’s draft stock has been hurt, and he may end up falling out of the top 3 selections. Perhaps one of the more interesting outcomes of the injury: in the long run, Embiid may end up playing for a better franchise. While it is always ideal to end up the top overall pick in the draft, I don’t believe Embiid is truly enamored with the idea of playing for the Cavs, as that franchise is in constant disarray, and the same could be said for Milwaukee. The 76ers will probably pass on taking a center with injury concerns after drafting one with similar concerns last year, and the Magic look to be well focused on drafting a guard.
After the 4th pick, there are 3 franchises that have a history of success, and each team will be high interested in Embiid, despite his injury concerns. The Jazz, Celtics and Lakers may find it difficult to pass on Embiid’s talent, and considering how devoid of talent the center position is in today’s game, one of those teams may end up taking Embiid. The possibility of playing for such a franchise may prove to be better for Embiid’s career, as opposed to playing for the Cavs or Bucks. Therefore, Embiid’s foot injury may be a blessing in disguise.

BallinmvpParticipantIt’s a interesting debate, it’s funny how things work out. If embiid were to fall out of the top five, which I personally still doubt, and the celts or lakers picked him up then that would be a great place for him and them. Both need upgrades at C and both have history of great Centers. I just want embiid to get healthy and stay healthy for his whole career but at this point it’s looking if not doubtful very overly optimistic.

TripleDoubleScoutParticipantI think with that scenario the Celtics are the most likely on the heels of the latest Love news. If the Celtics miss out on love and then trade rondo next week or next season, Embiid becomes a no brainer since you’re starting over anyway. Btw I think this possibility has about a 5% chance of happening

GoodbyeChandlerParticipantYes, I understand you skepticism, and I would be inclined to disbelieve that he would be available at the 5th pick, but considering recent reports, Embiid’s injury history, and the injury plagued careers of highly selected centers, perhaps him faling out of the top 5 is more plausible than you think

NeggedpastorI think its a lot of funny things being said and done who golfs a day before their surgery?
I don’t think hes injured I think its either smoke screen, the cavs just want to be scared or something showed up in the xray that looked like it could be either little trouble or major trouble in the future.but I don’t think hes injured as of now
if he can be anywhere still effective like brook was I would still take him anybody in this league would take a productive big

burgessfourParticipantshock me if this was somehow designed to get more from philly for pick 1, but then again I will admit it bring one of the conspiracy theorists and thought boston and the lakers were both going to get top 3 picks.

Neggedpastoryes he was golfing take a look at his instagram and you will see him standing on his feet golfing.
He had to pivot his foot to swing and put full pressure on it to walk I doubt he was golfing in a wheel chair or on crutches.so if the cavs weren’t going to draft him why leak the info it devalues the pick and their the only team that has records on him.
its to many weird things happening.
