I’ll start by saying I am a die hard Timberwolves fan, and have been for about 20 years. I have seen my share of gross incompetence, hilarity, and just plain awful basketball.

I say this because I have never seen anything as crazy/incompetent/horrible for fans as what the Kings have been doing for the last couple of years or so.

Two of their lottery picks in the last 4 years have been dumped for peanuts (Stauskas and T-Rob), they’ve been through what 3 or 4 coaches, signed some horrible contracts (gay comes to mind, but with the cap jump its not as bad, i guess), the power struggle in the FO, alienating a player who is arguablgy a top 10 player in the league in Cousins…I could go on. And now, I find out that they gave up a protected first AND 2 FIRST ROUND PICK SWAPS to dump Landry, Thompson, and Stauskas to recieve 2 euros not named Saric? On top of that, looking at paying Rondo big money??

What in the hell is going on there?! I legitimately feel sorry for any Kings fans on this site. Y’all deserve better than this garbage.

And the Cousins/Karl dynamic.  This is the definition of dumpster fire.

The Kings could have used those assets to get Ty Lawson.

Is there anything the NBA or Kings fans can do to get new ownership for this team? A fan crowdsourcing campaign to make the team publically owned would surely be WAY better than Maloofs/Vivek, right? Maybe they can be like futbol clubs in Europe (Barcelona comes to mind), and have fans buy shares in the team so they can elect people to run the team/have a say in decisions.

There has to be some way to kick Vivek out…and replace him with someone who gives even a hundredth of a damn about fielding a good team

Vivek clearly gives a damn about fielding a good team. He is just completely wrong about how to go about doing it, and he has convinced himself otherwise. Besides maybe Cuban, the best owners hire the best GMs because they recognize they are not qualified at all to even have a say in basketball decisions.

george karl has to go. But the draft picks wont be too big a deal. Good chance the sixers wont have a better  record then kings so the swaps could become a non factor. Kings felt like this gave them an opportunity to go after some veterans to help win now. Now lets see if they can do it.

Don’t rondo and cousins have beef. I saw a video of them when rondo was with the celtics almost throw down.

You lost your credibility with the Gay thing who is better than any current Timberwolves and I think the upside of Wiggins

I’m not knocking on Gay as a player. He actually improved a ton in Sacto. However, that doesn’t excuse the fact that he’s being way overpaid for his game. He’s one of those guys who always leaves something to be desired, and doesn’t have the motor that a guy with his natural gifts should be exploiting. He’s not worth what he’s being paid.

As for my Wolves…duh. But the problem with that statement is, Gay is on the latter end of his prime. He is what he is at this point. Wiggins and Towns both have higher floors (and frankly higher ceilings)  because they work their asses off. And Gay isnt even the best player on his team. Cousins is by far the most talented player on the Kings, as his ceiling is (slightly shorter, less-athletic Lakers Shaq) Shaq, and hes already probably the best pure C in the league.

He was over payed this year but his contract is now around $13m per year which for his production is more than fair.

Luckily for him, the new cap makes his deal more acceptable

And to think they were potential playoff contenders at the start of the season.. UNTIL THEY FIRED MIKE MALONE. That was the absolute worst move the franchise has done in its history, or at least one of, because they had something going there and they blew it up inexplicably.

Now they miss out on Wes Matthews (who they offered a max despite an achilles tear) and Monta. Plus, they might miss out on Rondo.

This is like the biggest disaster of an off season I’ve ever seen. I repeat: Kings fans, you deserve better.

matthews said if jordan goes to dallas so will i…thats the only reason sac didnt get wesley..sacramento has never been a destination in free agency but neither have the bucks and they just signed monroe who was sought after by many big market teams…i remember when chris webber didnt want to come to sacramento, that was a trade but he also resigned years later..players dont want to come to sac but after they experience the love and passion their opinions about sactown changes…we got rondo, bellinilli, not the best free agents but its better than nothing.

i would say the kings had a better offseason than the clippers, lakers, blazers…did you guys think the kings would trade for $$$$ and save it? let the dust clear…essentially the kings traded jason thompson carl landry stauskas and a future pick for rondo bellinelli and james anderson…seems like a win for both teams

Kings would be playoff team in east, not a bad offseason in terms of player additions. Only shiner was the whole cousins/Karl fiasco
