As a Nuggets fan, I love this new team in the way they now play team  basketball and personally think they could be one of the most dangerous in the playoffs. There aren’t many teams in the league these days that can say on a break-neck possession at the end of the game all five guys on the floor will touch the ball and have a green light to shoot.  There also aren’t any teams right now that play two undersized point guards at the same time during these crucial periods of he game and have been as successful as the nuggets.  As of right now  (they are just starting their game against the Lakers) they have won 13 of 17 and are the most efficient offense and 3rd fastest team since the Melo trade.  With Afflalo and Kenyon’s defense, the deep bench, and all the gunners on this team, can this team take down the Thunder in the first round?

After reading that article where Deron Williams stated you cant win titles with role players, is this matter-of-fact in the league these days? Does any team like the Nugs with no Big 3, 2, or even 1 have any shot at making the Finals?

The farthest I see that team going is the second round. I don’t see them beating a team like the Lakers or Spurs to get to the finals.

I love this team too but you can not win with out at least 2 stars thats just how the league has developed.

I think that this team may be the second best team in the west.  The proliferation of teams with multiple stars winning is due to the fact that good teams often make players look good and make all star teams.  Balanced teams can win, too.  The Pistons won a title without overly relying on one or two individual players.  The Celtics won a title with stars, but balance.  I think the Lakers will come out of the west, but the Nuggets shouldn’t be slept on, given the fact that they have been the best team in the NBA since trading Melo.  Basketball comes down to which team plays the best offense and defense, not the public’s perception of their top two plays or their lack of depth.

You can win without a superstar but i dont think the Nuggets will win it. They aren’t built like the super starless Pistons but they are built well enough to upset someone in the playoffs

Pistons had the best defensive player in the league.  And while they lacked a true superstar, they made up for it by having 4 all-stars.

Denver is nowhere near close to matching them.

I think in the playoffs with a shorter rotation and teams actually scouting them, they will need a go to guy. They could surprise a top team but i doubt they go further than the second round like somebody said.  I think right now they are matched up with OKC so that will be interesting.
