I have no idea who the clippers will take at #8 nor do I know who i want the clippers to take. I mean for the first time ever I am completely guessing as to who the clippers will take. I mean in years past it has been down to a few guys, but this year, the best players at their position of need will probably be gone by their pick. Therefore, they probably will go BPA. however, they might not, they might take a small forward still if they really like him. however, i don’t believe the rumors that they love hayward. why? because i believe the clippers are in a position where they hope that detroit will trade with someone who wants hayward (indiana) or babbit (utah) so that aminu can fall into their laps. no that is completely my own thoughts and im probably over analyzing false rumors of the clippers liking said players. I believe they end up going BPA and selecting the best of these available:

    1. wes johnson (unrealistic target)
    2. aminu (real target)
    3. monroe (definitely a BPA candidate)
    4. ed davis (individual work-out, seems like they like him as BPA)
    5. henry (backup plan for SF, safe pick)
    6. george (loads of potential, local guy, but risky)
    7. hayward (if they trade back)

So your pick will have a major role on who we end up with as well. I do think Monroe goes top 6, as does Johnson. With Kaman, and Blake coming back, you don’t really have a pressing need for a guy like Davis. I think the Clips will go with a small forward/two guard type. Hayward would be a real reach in my opinion. I’m thinking it probably boils down to either George, Aminu, or Henry for you guys. All three are about equal in my mind. Henry, as you said, would be the most surefire safe pick. Aminu isn’t a good shooter, and that concerns me about him. George has the most potential of the three, but for the life of me, I can’t get a good read on this guy. He could be the next Danny Granger, or he could be a bust.

Sorry I didn’t mean to leave him out. He’s a terrific shooter. Might be the safest pick along with Henry of that group.

Do you have a guy you like best from that group?

There are some rumors suggested that LAC draft board would be Al-Farouq Aminu > Luke Babbitt.

Aminu would probably be gone, so making Babbitt sounds like the pick.

I personally think Paul George or Xavier Henry would be better. I am not high on Gordon Hayward, and I am not sure what’s all the hype about him.

The top six guys are Wall, Turner, Favors, Cousins, Johnson, Monroe in some order. Detroit’s pick will come down to Ed Davis or Aminu. If the Pistons take Davis, The Clippers will take Aminu. If the Pistons take Aminu, who they are high on, the clippers will either take the best available wing or Davis. I think it will be Henry or George.

clippers, which of the small forwards in this draft have a chance to be better than the free agents the Clippers can chase with the $17+ million they have in cap room? It makes no sense to try convince yourself of a small forward when it is likely that none of them would be able to start for the team the Clippers will have come training camp.

I think there will be a surprise pick (there almost always is) that will allow LAC to take Aminu, who I agree is the player they would prefer most at that point in the draft.

the iggy trade is so dumb. why the hell would the clippers trade their lotto pick, a young big in DJ, and all their cap space for an overrated sg that would be bad fit and would not fill a need since he is a better sg than sf and they have gordon already?

Here are my thoughts on this:

i rank these guys for the clippers like this:

    1. Wes Johnson:

    2. Aminu:

    3. Monroe

    4.George

    5. Henry

    6. Ed Davis

    7. Hayward

    8. Babbit

In terms of why, look at my Wing Prospects Rankings thread.

Well for starters Iggy is a better SF then SG. Thats common knowledge now a days. But I feel like the Clippers are in the same spot that the Kings were in a few years ago when they drafted Jason Thompson. All the great players were gone, so I could see the Clippers doing the same thing in going with a potential or safe pick. The potential would be George, and safe pick would be Babbit or Aldrich. The problem I have with the Clips is their bench. It’s horrible, but they have decent starters 1-5. If I was them I’d Draft either Babbit or Henry. Both players could play 2 positions, and score the rock.

Stop the hate on Iguadola,,,,..He’s a top flight defender and slasher…he’s a SF in the mold of Scottie Pippen …He’ll be a great fit with the uptempo Clippers…he’s unselfish and a play maker…the SF and PF’s on your team will be great run and gun guys….”Iggy and Blake on the Break” They can’t get a great wing thru Free Agency without paying top dollar…Would you even want to do that…Rudy for Max Years and Money….Or Iggy for 3 more years at a fair price…Give up on The search for a savior at 8th….The Best Players Available fit better on the Sixers…Your team doesn’t need to wait 3 or 4 years for Aminu or George to become players worth a top 10 pick…Iggy is worth that and More…Jordan is a backup to Kaman and Butler is a shooter that can be replaced easily through veteran signing…Iggy can do it all on that team and would be perfect on thye Clippers….Just give me Henry, Butler and Jordan for a SF you should covet….

P.George or L.Babbit…If they pick Henry that only makes a log jam at SG…They take a huge risk on on whoever they pick….Why not trade The Sixers the Pick and Get Iguadola…The Sixers clear cap and get a shooter like Babbit or Henry(And Outside Shot in the Dark…Whiteside with the Pick)…If the Clippers throw in Jordan it makes the pick Henry or Babbit though…) I don’t think the Clippers keep the Pick…
