A couple of thoughts on the Cavs:

    1) LBJ is clearly the best player in the world right now. I’ve heard some chatter from around social media that people are thinking Curry is overtaking him, but he’s sure proved that wrong. LBJ is dominating in all facets of the game right now.

    2) Dellavadova is a joy to watch. Dude gives 200% and he’s finally getting he recognition he deserves. He’s been playing great. Looks like a long-term cornerstone for the Cavs.

    3) Although this Cavs team certainly is not as talented without Love and Irving, but this is still the best basketball they’ve played all year. My question to the forum – is this Cavs team better as a unit without Love and/or Irving in it?

I don’t think they are better without Irving, but they seem to be better without Kevin Love.

This is the weirdest series of basketball I have ever seen. The reffing has been garbage (on both ends, it’s stuck on "holy crap we suck" bias), the emergence of Delly makes zero sense based on the rest of his career but he’s still managing to be Tony Allen, Bron is doing his best AI, Curry can’t buy a bucket (though he’s doing a LOT better in game 3), Green is also sucking, David Lee could be the X-Factor for GSW…this has been a strange, strange series.

    I can’t explain it either.

I really think a lot of Curry’s struggles can be attributed to Delly’s defense.

It’s amazing how this kid came out of nowhere to become the next “Grindfather”

    Game just ended.  Some observations:

    1.  JBJ is the king.  What a beast.  Cannot stop that guy.  He can get whatever he wants on the iso, and can finish like a champ.

    2.  Dellavedova is truly a mystery.  He looks like a benchwarmer from like Coppin State, but he plays like a veteran NBA SF.  Weird.  And his teammates are all dialed into him.  Be interesting to see if he can sustain a very high level of play throughout the series.  Take away this guy and Cavs get blown out.  Sounds weird to say but it is true.

    3.  Klay Thompson was nowhere to be seen and did nothing in the second half.

    4.  Curry shot the ball well but made a key turnover late in the game that ruined the momentum of a GS comeback.  Guy did not have the swagger we have come to expect.

    5.  GS should have won this game, but they got outhustled, outbustled, and outmuscled.  Another gritty game that favored the Cavs playing style.

    6.  If GS cannot find an answer for Dellavedova, and JBJ, then even with Irving out, and Love out, the Cavs are gonna sweep the rest of the series.

I wasn’t going to say anything about the first JBJ, but after 2 I started wondering… You know it’s LBJ right?

They are an elite rebounding and defensive team without Love, and those two things are the key to great teams. Having Love on the perimeter alot of the time hurt them because lets be honest here, anyone can make a 3, but not everyone can do what Thompson is doing on the glass and on defense.

2 big improvements for this team without love is obviously the defense as well as the fact that everyone knows their roles and lebrons doesnt have to try and get anyone involved. He simply has to hit the open man and read the defense. WIth love during the regualr season i felt lebron was trying to get kevin involved often times to the detriment of the team. With that said, i think with love they are better. Hes just as good a rebounder as thompson and can hit his fts and stretch the floor.

Also, whats up with draymond green? He looks nervous everytime he touches the ball and cant hit anything. Is he costing himself millions in htese finals?

Draymond has lost all confidence in himself shooting the ball

very broken, however on the other hand you have a guy in iggy who felt like his shot was broken making tough jumpers and converting the open ones at a decent rate. Iguodala has certainly been the most impressive warrior so far in the series.

If Draymond has cost himself millions, Delly has made himself millions.

Hes an unrestricted free agent…if a team comes knocking with anything over 3m per season, no way the cavs can match given their Salary cap situation.

I wouldnt be surprised to see a team throw 3 years/15m at him.

This Cavs team is better for a short series maybe. Awfully tough to play the way they are playing over the course of an entire season. What they’ve got is working right now because they are controlling the pace and winning the 50/50 stuff.

If anyone thought Curry was overtaking LeBron as the best player in the league, I’d love a huff of what they were on because life must be pretty joyous. Curry needs to be making 3s to affect the game. Thompson needs to make shots to affect the game, neither one can take over a game if they aren’t knocking down 3s.

Currys taken 34 3s and 12 free throws in 3 games also has 19 assists to 16 turnovers. Thompson has taken 28 3s and 11 free throws and has 4 assists.
