BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipant(NewDesignWorld Press Center) – CLEVELAND (AP) — Turkish center Enes Kanter has worked out for the Cleveland Cavaliers, who own the Nos. 1 and 4 overall picks in this month’s NBA draft.
Kanter, a 6-foot-11, 260-pounder, could be in the mix to be the second selection for the Cavs, who are expected to choose Duke point guard Kyrie Irving with the top pick. The Cavs confirmed Kanter’s visit and said Irving would be in "sometime soon."
The team is not making players available for interviews.
Kanter enrolled at Kentucky last year but was ruled ineligible before the season began because he had been paid to play professionally in Turkey.
The Cavaliers have reportedly shopped the No. 4 pick, possibly to add players and perhaps another pick later in the first round.

Remember when Enes Kanter was at the combine and dodging a bunch of top ten teams, but met with the Spurs?

draftmangtParticipantI think the only way the cavs trade the pick is is the Williams and Kanter are off the board.

BKKnicksfanParticipantWhat would the Spurs give up? Also, I thought Kanter worked out for Utah?

WizardofOzParticipantCleveland wants to accumulate as many picks as they can and jumpstart their rebuild.
As a Wizards fans, what are you guys thoughts on this trade.
#6 + #18
for
#4
Cleveland only moves down two spots and get an extra 1st roun pick, while Washington moves up and takes best player available.

AKOOParticipantIt would be good if they dont like Kanter and wanted Biyombo or Val with #6 and take say Marshon Brooks or Jordan Hamilton at 18. That would be a pretty good draft if they dont like Kanter.
1 Irving
6 Jonas Valanciunas
18 Marshon Brooks

mds0549ParticipantDo the cavs really want to get that young that fast? Adding 3 first round rookies may not help them as much as adding two with more talent. They will probably still have a high pick in next year’s much deeper draft and don’t need to go through so many growing pains together.

BismarkBiyomboParticipantIts about what they (the Cavs) perceive the talent drop is between the 4th and 6th selection. If they think that Bismark and Kanter are on the same level then yes do the trade and pick up the 18th pick or if they value Burks more then Kanter make the trade and pick up Jeremy Tyler at 18. I would personally make the trade for the 6 and 18 and take and take Burks and Tyler.
PG-Kyrie Irving
SG-Alec Burks
SF-
PF-JJ Hickson
C-Jeremy Tyler
They are three years and a defensive minded SF away from the 8th seed with that lineup.

mrhancocParticipantnow, if the Cavs are shopping around the 4th pick, I would think that they will take Kyrie; maybe Im wrong? I really think the Cavs are trying to avoid drafting 2 PGs (Kyrie and Brandon) b/c they maybe getting feedback that between the Twolves and Jazz, Williams and Kanter will be selected, well if so……………then yes the Cavs should Trade out of the 4th pick but only for a top 5 pick next year (next yrs draft is gonna be killer deep/talented)
But if Kanter or Williams is there at the 4th pick, then Cavs should take em

OhCanada-ParticipantI thik you guys have it all mixed up. They are probally shoppig the pick predictig Kanter not being available at 4. If they select Irving, and Williams and Kanter are also selected with the 2nd and 3rd picks Knight will still be a highly sought after prospect. They will already have selected a PG and not have any need for Knight thus making the third pick available. I think everyone is in agreement in the fact that there is not much difference in the talent between 5-9. Vesely, Leonard, Walker, Motiejunas, and Valanciunas are all about the same worth along with the possibility of Thompson, Fredette, Burks and Marcus Morris also being in that category.
They will likely select Irving as not to upset the fans who the majority of which want Kyrie no matter what position that would put them in with the 4th pick. After that they will likely pray Kanter falls to the 4th pick by means of Utah selecting Knight…If that doesnt happen the 4th pick could immediatly become expendable, and many teams are interested in Knight.
