Moon RiverParticipantInitially, I did not really like the signing of Kenyon Martin to a 10 day contract. I like it even less now that it looks like they have to waive Nate Wolters to make it happen.

zcnumerounoParticipantI’m a Bucks fan, and I can say that this doesn’t make any sense
The Bucks are a rebuilding team with a bright future ahead of them.
Nate Wolters had a solid rookie season, so I don’t get the logic year. The Bucks are supposed to be trading away guys like Kenyon Marin, like Ersan Ilyasova or OJ Mayo, to better help the team down the line.

juves4783Participanti wouldn’t say they are in a rebuilding mode. i mean they are still in the running in the east. i don’t think the k-mart signing is as bad as everyone thinks. the frontcourt is weak and could use a mentally strong vet. parker is out for the year and sanders is on some wierd sabatacle where nobody seems to know what’s going on with him.
in reality, wolters is the same age as kendall marshall and both do similar things. big, pass first guards that aren’t great defenders.

ropeParticipantMartin is only on a 10 day contract, so it isn’t like it is a big risk. I have always figured that old vets that have lost a lot of their effectiveness and still get signed are guys that are good to have around your team and in the locker room. If you are an older idiot, you don’t get signed to average 5 and 4. Martin was felt to be a hot head for awhile, but I think he has settled into the role player / role model thing pretty darn well.

zcnumerounoParticipantThe Bucks are a very mediocre team. They’re .500. They’re not going to contend for anything. Wolters had a solid rookie season, and has potential as a nice backup guard, whereas Martin is pretty much done.

OhCanada-ParticipantPlayer coach. Kidd played with Martin for a while and they likely have good chemistry. Kenyon can be Jason’s eyes and ears on and off the court and somebody that reaffirms Kidd’s structure. Good move helps Kidd’s system.

machu46ParticipantPersonally, I like Wolters, but I’m not sure where his role is in the NBA. He’s a poor shooter, isn’t really a creator at all, and he’s just a solid defender. His biggest strength is his poise and control over the game, but when he actually gets in games, he’s not willing to take control. He’s just so passive that it basically renders him useless as a player, so on a team that already has 3 other PGs and is lacking in big men, it makes sense that they would drop him for a big body.
