ProudGrandpaParticipantOk, I don’t hate Bill Simmons. He’s a human being and so I don’t hate him. But I hate his shtick. His Boston-biased, obnoxious fanboy, underresearched, opinion-flinging, whiny-voiced shtick. He’s a decent writer. But he is obnoxious and I never want to see his face on TV again.

jacobkeyParticipantI like him. I think he’s refreshingly honest and doesn’t spout the same catch phrases and cliches that most analysts do. He’s a hilarious writer BTW.

phila9012ParticipantI like him in his role as kind of the fan who is just curious about basketball, he usually asks good questions. I think the role they have him in is pretty good for him, he is a good fourth member of any TV crew. He was great with Jalen Rose when they interviewed the draft prospects.

Cavaliers420ParticipantReally? A lot of the time I feel like of the four guys he makes a lot more sense then Jalen and Magic. They look at the game from a players perspective, but he looks at it from an outside perspective, there are times where he straight up gives his opinion and you can tell some of the other guys on the set don’t like it, for example Bill was obviously upset with Doc leaving the Celtics the way he did and they talked about it and you could tell by Jalens body language he didn’t agree, same way when he said Brandon Jennings doesn’t deserve a full scale contract Jalen didn’t even comment. All I’m saying is at least he isn’t afraid to say whatever he wants, a lot of these other guys worry about peoples opinions of them, but he honestly doesn’t care and is just a fan of the sport.

NickWayne87Participant100 percent and have felt the same way ever since i saw him. Now I know i’m not alone. He just seems out of place….like he kinda knows but doesn’t REALLY know what he’s talking about.

SubZeroParticipantBill Simmons is actually one of my favorite analyst/commentator/columnist…..colummentalyst…in sports. I guess he’s just one of those guys where you either love him or you hate him

For_Never_EverParticipantI thought he made the most logic out of everyone. I also like how he put Bazz under the bus without thinking twice about it.

llperezAs a laker fan, I don’t want to care for him since he bashes them. But I do enjoy his writing mostly and think he has solid opinions. One thing is being an ex player doesn’t make you right and so many ex athletes seem to think they know everything because they were there in the trenches so to speak. But Bill gives a voice to the hardcore fans and has his own take. But you can also tell that in writing columns he’s used to having the last word on everything and now in television he seems frustrated that guys are right there telling him he’s wrong and he can’t just own the podium all to himself like he’s used to.

For_Never_EverParticipantIt seemed tonight Jalen Rose was really uncomfortable with how open Simmons talked. Jalen had a weird stoic look on face at times, and didn’t even want to look that way.

fcb206ParticipantHow you could possibly hate him more than the brain dead ex player/coach/failed GM who usually takes up that spot? After Jeff Van Gundy and Steve Kerr, there is basically no other NBA analyst capable of speaking in complete sentences or not completely relying on rhetoric every time they talk.
