OhCanada-ParticipantThis guys is absolutely blowing up. He’s done workouts with Boston, Denver, Phoenix and has one more before preparing with Team China. Here’s a bit too know about him.
-7’2 in shoes 7’7 wingspan
-only weighs 220 but has gained about 10 pounds in the last half a year
-reportedly has a plan to return to China for one year to begin a nutritionists specialized diet for weight and to learn English (this is not hos final decision)
-reportedly deals with contact well and communicates well despite lack of English
Zhou is a lock for the 1st round and is starting to look like a top 3 international prospect and the best draft and stash prospect around. Don’t be surprised to hear lottery talks when his name is brought uup starting with the Suns second pick at 13.

Bossy13ParticipantSo wait, he plans on leaving the U.S.A for China to gain weight?? Much like pizza and cheeseburgers, the irony is delicious.

McDunkinTaking a year to learn English im kind of iffy on but I guess since he isn’t as major as Yao Ming a ride along translator might not be worth it.
On the basketball end I would prefer if he spent the year playing somewhere outside of China where his stats would be mostly inflated.

ChewyParticipantmany years were taken off of Yao’s career because the Chinese National Team refused to let him sit. China needs every one of their best players on the team to hope to compete. That means, NBA players from China ARE going to play in the summer. There is no opting out for them.
Unlike here and most other countries, where if you are injured, your country lets you rest and recover. If he turnes into half of what people think he could be, that makes him a lock for his national team. So combinding his slight frame with his summer workload, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him end his NBA career 4-5 shorter than comparible other big men.

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantI wouldn’t waste a 1st round pick on him. I’m thinking late second. Chinease players haven’t faired well in the NBA. Yao Ming of course the exeption of that. But even he struggled in the locker room.

ExumInfernoParticipantNo way the Warriors pass him, fit and money, so seems a lock for the first round.
If he is staying away for a year, then teams wanting to use money on free agents will want him.
Teams like the Suns, Nuggets, Celtics with several first rounders will not want too many rookies at once. He works for them.
From the post title I thought the Kings were a chance, maybe they trade down for him and 16 and 23 or 13 and 28 might make some sense in a trade.

festar35ParticipantI know it goes against Bird’s small ball obsession, but man I would love him as the PF next to Turner at C going forward they could become a devastating combo.
