Demarcus OnealParticipantWho Will be the Best Player in the NBA coming into this Season and at the end of the 2011-12 Campaign?

Cincinatti BowtiesParticipantEasy one, Erick Dampier.

Toronto16ParticipantEasy answer is Lebron James, but I’m not sleeping on Kevin Durant

FastAndFuriousParticipantLebron Jamessssss

GrandmamaParticipantYeah it’s either Lebron or Durant. Personally I hope Durant.

HaleParticipantLeBron James, and I’m guessing the year after it will be LeBron again.Durant is not nearly as close as people think.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 11/26/2011 - 8:27pm #609642

FastAndFuriousParticipantI agree, Lebron is a walking triple double, and can dominate a game without scoring.
Durant not quite at that level.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 11/26/2011 - 8:33pm #609645

HaleParticipantExactly, what does Durant do better then LeBron outside of outside shooting? Nothing.People also overrate Durant’s supposed clutch ability.

bobbybParticipantdo people have amnesia or something and not see the finals last year? Clearly Dirk is the best player in the league

RUDEBOY_ParticipantThe Black Mamba might be getting older..But he Will have a say in this…..Dat Dude love Challenges…

kngojcParticipantMavericks had a good match up against the Heat. I’m not even going to get into that again. Durant isn’t close to LBJ. He’s the kinda guy that’ll pick up the torch and continue on once James retires or starts to drop off.
Personally I think D Wade will be the best player this year if only for the fact that LeBron will be throwing up shots all over the court just to try and prove to the world that he can still play. And that could lead to some bad games where Wade has to bail him out (time and time again.)

JaeEvolutionParticipantWhy does everyone sleep on Dwight Howard? He’s been surrounded by over the hill players his whole career and still gotten to the finals. I don’t get it!!!

EntropyParticipantKobe bryant will not be close to being the best player next season. He is getting too old, people tend to overrate him becuase of his past successes.
Best player will probably be lebron. I am simply amazed he hasn’t had any sort of major injury/s like D-wade has had, espcially considering his physical style of play. But he definitely is losing athletism, this cannot be quesitoned. I think 2 years from now someone else will come into the picture, but i can’t really see anyone from the current young players that will be as good as lebron or even Wade.

alex23Participantthat lebron james is losing his athleticism , i just dont think hes trying to go full out in regular games for highlights that require athleticism

IndianaBasketballParticipantLeBron doesn’t jump as high as he used to and his first step isn’t as quick, but he’s still one the fastest from end to end… He’s still an elite athlete who’s bigger and stronger than any wing in the league. He uses his athleticism really well at the defensive end.
He’s never had any major injuries, but there’s still normal wear and tear. I mean, he’s young age wise, but he’s been in the league eight years and played 40 minutes per game damn near every season.
He’s the best player in the league, but I want to see if he’s added a post game.

Meditated StatesParticipantOr Dwight Howard. Lebron is MIA in big moments all the time. That MIA don’t stand for MIAMI either.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 11/27/2011 - 7:43am #609717
Michael.S.ParticipantKD isn’t better than LeBron under any circumstance. LeBron might disappear in big moments but KD hasn’t even had any big moments to disappear in yet. Dwight is the most dominant bigman but bigmen can’t take over a game like a wing or guard can.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantPeople forget how Unstoppable Kobe is when he’s at 50 percent, Black Mamba is still king of the hill, Lebron is on his heels though…Durant is probally the 9th or 10th best player in the league…behind Kobe,Lebron,Wade,Howard,Dirk and possibly Paul,Rose and Williams…those guys effect the game in so many ways, also have to put Melo above KD too, Melo is a complete scoring machine…
0 - Posted on: Sun, 11/27/2011 - 8:29am #609737
aamir543ParticipantThe best player is a really broad term. It could range anywere from who scores the most points, or has the complete offensive game, or can lock someone down on defense. Personally, if Dwight can continue his progress offensively, than I’ll put him ahead of Lebron. Last season, his PPG jumped from 18 to 23. I believe he worked with Hakeem a bit more this Off-Season, so hopefully his game is even more well rounded, cause if he can domnate the low block like Shaq did, or even Patrick Ewing, combine that with his D, and you have the best player currently in the league.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 11/27/2011 - 8:34am #609739
The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantHe’s the best Center in the NBA and wouldn’t take much to become the best player…

M-DYMESParticipantLBJ is by far the best all around player in the league. He can run the point (handles, vision, passing, decision making), he can drive, he is a decent shooter and can easily get on a hot streak, he plays great D and he hits the boards.
Durant may end up being the better scorer, but until he becomes better in the other categories, LBJ will continue to be the best all-around player in the league.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 11/27/2011 - 9:39am #609767

IndianaBasketballParticipantLeBron is a better all-around player, but I like Durant better.
Durant is a better shooter. He can shoot the three, has a very good mid-range game, plus he can finish. He’s way more trustworthy on the free-throw line. He’s great at getting to the line and doesn’t avoid going there down the stretch. I also love the fact that he doesn’t have to dominate the ball to be effecitve. He can move without the ball. He can catch and shoot. He can put the ball on the floor. Defensively, he has the length to make a great impact. Good rebounder.
The only problem I have with Durant right now is that he needs to get better in the clutch. I thought he ran from the ball at times in the playoffs. He also needs to keep improving his vision. He doesn’t have to be the passer LeBron is, he just has to see the floor better and make the right passes. He also needs to keep getting stronger, so he can take his game to the post.
I believe Durant will pass LeBron in the next season or two.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantand loses all of his other skills, Lebron is the 2nd best player in the League(close 2nd to Kobe) It’s debatable that Durant is even in the top 8…
If you look at The Overall Impact Durant has compared to that of other players, He’s not top 5 by any means…Kobe,Lebron,Wade,Howard and Dirk have a larger Impact on the Game right now than Durant, we could then say Paul,Williams and Rose have a bigger Impact too, as they can score and distribute the ball to their teammates, and Then we can argue that Melo is a better overall scorer and rebounder than Durant right now, that puts Duarnt 10th on my personal list of Best players, I’d agree that Durant has the best combo of size and offensive skills but with Dirk fresh off a Championship I’d probally be debated on that statement…

iguapops420ParticipantIm with RudeBoy, Kobe gonna have a BIG say in this. He’s still the main dude of this League and not one player will say otherwise.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 11/27/2011 - 11:31am #609835
TheLastWordParticipantMamba. He had surgery and has most of his lift back.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 11/27/2011 - 11:40pm #609949

RUDEBOY_ParticipantLebron is the most talented player in the nba..But ask 85% of the coaches in the league what player they FEAR the most with the ball in his hands in the final seconds its Kobe….
