SkalAndJamalParticipanthttp://www.sbnation.com/college-basketball/2015/8/11/9128381/five-star-recruits-nba-draft-prospects so SB nation made an article of the top 10 NBA prospects in high school and I thought it would be fun if we round by round try to ultimately find out who is the best prospect in high school. SO PLEASE VOTE ON EACH MATCH-UP.
Seeding is the top 8 from the article.
1. DeAndre Ayton v. 8. De’Aaron Fox
4. Michael Porter v. 5. Marvin Bagley
3. Harry Giles v. 6. Jason Tatum
2. Josh Jackson v. 7. Thon Maker
Im going with Fox(upset), Bagley, Giles, and Jackson. Fox is just looking more and more like John Wall to me the more I see him. Bagley can start on any college team this upcoming season and it wouldn’t even be a discussion, he is Calipari’s top target. Giles is Coach K’s. Josh Jackson, every time he played against a big recruit he seems to just destroy.

ncballerGood thread.
1. This matchup is a lot closer than people realize, but I am still going to give the nod to Ayton. If he stays healthy he will be a beast. People can cite his matchup against Maker, but they forget how he dominated UNC’s frontline that is full of NBA prospects as a 15 year old. I like Fox’s upside a lot. I think he can be a high end starter in the NBA. I don’t think he is near John Wall’s level as a prospect though (few people are). Wall is 100% fast twitch muscle freak. I do think Fox can be a lot like Jrue Holliday though, which is nothing to scoff at. I just think that Ayton could be one of the all time greats if he puts it all together.
2. Marvin Bagley hands down. I haven’t seen such a young player that is already as used to his height as Bagley is. He knows how to move, he picks his spots right, handles the ball like a guard, has a decently advanced post game. The kid has a future to be a threat from all over the court and over the summer was putting up monster numbers being guarded by guys 2 years older than him. I would put him number 1 on this list to be honest.
3. Tatum is the better scorer, Giles is the better player. I will give Giles the nod due to his defensive versatility. I think he has the potential to guard 3 positions in the NBA, while I think Tatum will be limited to one.
4. Josh Jackson. Kid is a winner and lives for the moment.

SkalAndJamalParticipantI like what you said about Bagley. It’s like when people say "if I was 8 inches taller, I would be unstoppable"… He really did that! Lol

ncballerHe might rival Anthony Davis as the most unique player in the NBA in a few years. I am really really really high on this kid.

EspressoprodigyParticipant1. Gotta go with Ayton here. He’s looking like quite the prospect already and is still learning to play ball… does that remind me of anyone? Yes, Embiid.
2. Michael Porter is a player like Paul George who will take a little time to develop physically and even mentally. He just came off a growth spurt and is still growing into his body, when the process is all over with, he projects to have all the god given attributes, plus the addition of SG skills at 6’10-6’11ft, superstar potential. He needs to become more aggresive inside, not only on "on-ball drives", more aggressive off the ball. My favorite of the bunch.
3. Jayson Tatum. Plays pretty. He is so fluid with his movements and knows how to get into good spots. Hes crafty, mature, and my favorite, sick midrange game.
4. I will take the gamble on Maker. Ouch. Thon is a specimen oozing potential. From far he looks like a copy of Kevin Garnett. Although he has a super versitile game, he plays really awkward. His moves look forced and kinda wreckless but he’s effective, shows willingness to goes after rebounds like a madman and doesnt dissapear in games, always find a way to make an impact.

EspressoprodigyParticipantIf I could edit that, i would pick Giles ahead of Tatum. I am not overly impressed with neither.

ChrispyParticipantI want to take a wildcard not on this list. I would say Malik Monk. I have seen him in person twice and he is, how should we say, SPECIAL. I think he might be stuck between positions a little right now, but he is a surefire lottery pick as we speak. He is a shooter/scorer first, but make no mistake he can really distribute the rock too, which sets him apart from other so called combos.
