JHong621ParticipantWhat do you guys think about the time placement of the All Star Break? It’s in the middle of the season, like baseball, but do you guys think it should be an end of season thing like football? Putting it in the middle of the week I think makes them play less aggressively because they don’t want to get injured. If they put it at the end of the season, I think it might be more beneficial, because it allows us to vote more for late bloomers in the season, and also vote accordingly to playoffs. Also, after the finals, I have nothing to watch on TV. But then again, if a player that just loses in the NBA finals in a 7 game set is voted to the All Star Game, then he probably won’t be inclined to play well, or even at all, as he might withdraw from it. I don’t know, the All Star Game is kind of getting boring anyways, with the only thing mildly interesting being the dunk comp. I think they need to add something, or change something, to make it exciting again.

butidonthavemoneyI think mid-season is fine. But you are right they need to add something else to it. Maybe One on One competitions?

JHong621Participanthmmm thats a good idea. O i forgot, they had horse last year, with some nice players. The idea is good, but the shots they took was boring. They should expand on that.

Knicksboy34ParticipantIMO…it needs a couple things. I would have this
3 Day All Star Party
Friday- 1 on 1 competitions (For example- Derrick Rose vs John Wall)
Saturday- HORSE, Skills Challenge, 3 point Challenge and Slam Dunk Contest
Sunday- NBDL All-Star Game (Afternoon) and NBA All Star game (Evening)

JHong621ParticipantI also like the incentive that baseball gives, where winner gets home field advantage in playoffs. I mean come on, we talkin about playoffs. It makes them wanna play. NBA players are so lackadaisical in the All Star game.

NO That should not happen in Basketball…NO

JHong621ParticipantWell of course not, I’m just using it as an example, adding some kind of incentive to the game. I think it was Carl Crawford that stole the home run this year on that amazing catch. If it wasn’t for the incentive, he would of just let that go over. I want to see stuff like that in the All Star Game. I mean, come on, it’s NBA’s best, it’s not suppose to be boring…

Knicksboy34ParticipantThe NBA is too Team friendly. The NBA needs more Karl Malone type personalities….Tough, rugged and just mean.
Guys Like LBJ and Wade are too soft now a days.

spencerishawesomenobody is gonna do 1 on 1. Do you think Wade will want to risk losing to Brandon Roy on national TV? It would be interesting but it wont happen.
No incentives for winning needs to be done either, its just a fun game and thats about it. It’s boring like the NFL all-star game but i dont think it should mean anything, I hate baseball’s rule.
The only thing I could think that they could do that would be interesting is instead of one big game have a 3 on 3 tournament
(Using 2009 All-Stars)
EASTIverson/Allen/LeBron
Nelson/Joe Johnson/KG
Wade/Harris/Lewis
Mo Williams/Granger/Howard
WEST
Kobe/West/Duncan
Paul/Stoudemire/Gasol
Billups/Roy/Shaq
Parker/Nowitzki/Yao

kong47272ParticipantI know a lot of people like the rookies vs sophmores game but how about if we did away with that and did this.
East rookies vs West rookies
You could get a lot of hype for this matchup
East:
Hill (have to go with a small line-up since the C spot was so weak this year)
Hansborough/Johnson
Daye
DeRozen/Williams
Jennings/Teague/HolidayVs:
West:
Thabeet
Griffin
Clark
Harden/Evans
Curry/FlynnSophmores vs NBDL All-stars
Both games would be great, everyone loves seeing the rookies play
and the second game would have huge bragging rights to it, and would give the DLeague great publicity if they could put up a good game.
