Hey guys, I just finished up round 1 of a mock with comments. I took a decent amount of time in it so let me know what you think thus far. I tried to make these selections based on each team’s tendencies, not what I would pick if I were in the situation.

I don’t have any arguments, it’s a great mock, better than mine for sure. Personally, I don’t understand the hype with Noah Vonleh. He isn’t a particularly great athlete and is 6’10" in shoes, good but not great size considering he’s a sub-par athlete. His post moves are basic, his jump shot isn’t consistent. I don’t know, I don’t see the hype.

Well when you consider his skill set combined with the fact that he has a 7’3″ wingspan and won’t turn 19 until August, you get a very intriguing prospect. Plus I think you are underestimating his athletic ability.

No one’s going to get too upset at your mock because, for the most part, you took nbadraft.net’s mock and moved players 1 to 3 spots.

It’s nice to see guys like Mario Hezonja, Nik Staukus, and Chris Walker in the 1st round because that’s a little risk on your part.

I’ll have to look into Hezonja. I actually have Walker higher than you do based off potential. I really need to see some minutes though. He looks like he likes to drive into the lane the way Randle does, but has even less of a handle. I hope they put him on the floor.

I am still blown away by the tragic undervaluing of Adrien Payne. Just because he’s a 4 year player people think there’s a red flag on him. Dude is GOOD. Catch and shoot, power post moves over both shoulders, can blow by bigs, and a plus athlete. He will be better than Vonleh, and I’d put him up there with anyone after the top 6.

PJ Hairston and Jerami Grant will go higher than that

The only 2 SG’s that should even be considered before PJ Hairston are Garry Harris and James Young.  The GM that picks Stauksas over him will be fired.

Sean Kilpartick, I’ve always liked him but never knew if he had that ‘it” factor to make it to the league, he’s proving he does this year by carrying a top 10 team. I’m surprised he isn’t even on the current mock draft on this site.

I think you are undervaluing Jerami Grant. He is long, athletic and a good defender with heaps of potential.

I think he is a lock first round pick.  The NBA stats/metrix nerds are all over Dekker because of the effiiciency of his production.  He is a good all around player and a better athalete than he gets credit for.

I have Grant going as high as 15 and as low as what I put him so yes I lowballed him a bit. In regards to Dekker, I have a few players like Hezonja who most likely won’t declare this year so I could def see him sneak in to the first round ahead of MacAdoo even.

I feel the same way about Wiggins preferring his two way potential to Parker’s offensive polish. As a Sixers fan I wouldn’t be upset about getting either of them but if they are picking #2 and Embiid is gone I am hoping they go Wiggins.
