I say the Wizards. He would fit great next to McGee

He’s coming off of an ACL tear and he’s north of 30. He’ll want more than what he’s worth. As a Pacers fan, I’m hoping we avoid that.

I agree with IndianaBasketball, the Pacers are far better off approaching Paul Millsap or even having psycho T with his workable contract fill that 4 spot

I’d avoid him for the fact that he’s a blackhole that doesn’t play much defense.

His best fit is the Wizards. All of the other team are STACKED at the point, except the hornets, but he would get more minutes with the wizards. He also fits their style of play the best.

Don’t feel bad, I thought he was talking about Delonte West too at first. Good thing the edit button works IF you can get to it fast enough lol.

I think West will still be a very capable offensive PF.  He has one of the best mid and close range shooting strokes in the league @ PF.  He may not be guy for the future, but he’ll be a good immediate fix for a playoff contender with a need @ PF until they can find their future PF and groom him.

By no means would I overpay and invest my future in him, but I’d take him on a 3 yr deal if the price is right.  Hopefully GMs have learned from the past and don’t invest too much in him.

For people saying he’s going to the Wizards, is he really that much better than Andray Blatche for you to spend the kind of money he is going to demand? West has never averaged more then 8.9 rpg, is not a good defender at all and he is coming off one of the most serious injuries a basketball player can have. The Wizards are not contending anytime soon, so I say they should pass, and focus on developing their young players instead.

I’m not buying the Wizards having interest in him. I’d pass if I was them. He’s a soft, jump shooting big. No way I’d risk our long-term cap space on him, as he’s 31, will shorten our championship window, and just came off a major knee injury. I’d consider signing if we were trying to make a run for a championship, but we’re not. I’d take a healthy Dray over him (even though he’s a question mark himself).

West isn’t a good fit for the Wizards for a number of reasons…

    1.  Age…this team is very young and won’t be competing for a title until West is no longer a force in the league.  If u want to bring in a vet for leadership, bring in one without as high of an asking price.

    2.  Style…West is better suited for a half-court set offense.  With guys like Wall, Vesely, McGee, Young, Crawford…this team is better suite to play uptempo style ball offesnively.

    3.  $$$…not in a situation where they need to spend big bucks on an aging vet to get over some insurmountable obstacle.  Save up $$$ for a bigtime player in the future or resigning your youthful players.

    4.  Injury

    5.  Lack of D

The Wiz should not sign West. And I doubt he would sign there too. Just no reason why a vet who can still produce, should sign with a young team, who will probably be pretty bad.

I think they should also look to trade Blatche. He’s a too much of a headcase, but a team that needs scoring from a big (Charlotte, Bucks, NO, Denver, Indy) might take a chance on him since his contract is quite good, and he is still very young. I hope they give their young guys (Vesely, Seraphin) some good run this year in the post and let them develop with Wall.
