David..PaulsParticipantWas quite impressed with how Serbia did, consiering they have 7 million people in their country, less than that of New York City. Thought to myself, how would th best players from New York do in the olympics for basketball? Los Angeles? Turns out alot of players come from just outside these cities. (ex, yes Bulls have Rose, Wade, Anthony Davis… not anyone else playing pro ball really; need some depth), So started looking at states, with comprable size to Serbia.
Hense; Ohio is around the same size and has two very notable players (Akron- Lebron, Curry).
How do you think a team of:
Curry, Cj. Mcullom, Lebron, A Payne, BJ Mullens (Kousfos has played outside of america before apparently born in Canton)
with a bench of: Norris Cole, B Roberts (over Burke), Kevin Martin, Luke Babbit (over Henry Walker, Redd who retired 4 years ago, and Chris Johnson on the Jazz), Larry Nance Jr, Jared Sullinger.
would do, if they had minimum the same prep time as this usa roster in Rio?
Coaching staff would be Bobby Knight (or not), Butch Carter (raptors coach 2000’s) and the Great John Havlicek),
One problem this usa team had is almost everyone wanted to score and be the man (little defined role players outside of jordan, green, and barnes; both two of thsoe rarely played).
this team has 3 clear tentpoles, with clear role players. Could include players in brackets too, but I simply think Redd is too old. I actually think Mullens is a great fit with his touch and payne.
Thought on how they would do?

GBeeParticipantThat starting frontcourt made me throw up in my mouth. I’d start Sully and Nance Jr over those 2 turds, then scour college rosters for replacements for Payne/Mullens.

he_gets_bucketsParticipantCan we stop with this Curry is from Ohio business. He lived there for 6 months and spent the rest of his formative years in Carolina. Its nearly as bad as when people try and say Kyrie is Australian

losnopesosParticipantSort of a shame that the gold medal game was a route for the last 35 minutes, but props to Serbia. They’ve got some serious tennis and now basketball chops.

King CaluchaParticipantWell, Serbia wasn’t a surprise. They have been good for a long long time.
