MEMPHIS. – Plan – keep conely, keep mayo, keep gay, keep thabeet and gasol all year long. if an interesting offer comes along for thabeet or gasol which could dramatically improve the team…i’d say do it.
TEAM NEEDS – solid 4’s. We know randolph can score and rebound…and his stay in memphis can’t and most likely won’t be more than 2 years. I have no hate on arthur..but at 6’9 and 220..this just doesn’t seem like an ideal powerfoward of the future. If arthur can gain about 15-20 pounds of muscle and just maybe another inch..then he has a more positive future at PF. He needs to develope his post game and rebounding as well. I say…let randolph and arthur deal at the 4 for this year…but next year…draft a true powerfoward and go from there……. also..trade warrick and carrol for a nice backup SG. Either a veteran with nice experience…or a young promising SG that would be fine with playing backup for a long time.

OKC. – Plan – This team just looks scarier each year that goes by. It’s nice that they picked up a SG and another center through the draft. Harden looks to be promising as a starting SG and mullens will help krystic. If there’s still a possibility of pulling off a chandler trade….without losing westbrook or harden…and of course durant’s going nowhere…the guy they’d be able to lose through the trade is green. Seeing chandler play along with durant, westbrook and harden would be pimpin….. plus..if they kept krystic without trading him to n.o.. he could play more PF than center..his size doesn’t make him center material.
TEAM NEEDS – it looks like they need some veteran help off the bench…..but really…this team doesn’t even look weak on the bench…mullens, collison, sefolosha, weaver..white…watson..livingston…

SAC – plan – Keep the bigs…keep evans. IF ANY TRADE…that comes up for kevin martin…look at is seriously. I have not been impressed with kevin since his new contract. Sure…he can score…but he just scores only… Find a way to trade kevin before they can’t get anything out of him.
TEAM NEEDS – Another big off the bench. use that f**kin( 6 million) left in cap space for a big guy….at the end of 09-10…they’ll have a lot of cap space to pursue better players..but for now…grab a big that’s young…big baby….. Lastly, more depth at SG….they are seriously gonna regret letting mccants go. They’re covered at the 1 and 3…

You talked about the Grizzlies to perfection…I agree with everything 100%

You got the Thunders’ plans mostly right. I think Mullens is a bust. I also wouldn’t trade Green ever. I have seen him play in person and he has major skills.

I wouldn’t mind trading Martin as long as they get a very good player in return. I also think they will regret letting McCants go & I agree they need to spend money now. Here is where I disagree…I would trade Thompson. I also think the Kings need an upgrade at SF for sure. Yes, they have good depth at SF but they don’t have a legit starter at that position.

it’s true about the depth at Sf, i figure if they rotated all 3 at the 3, it could possibly produce. the problem is they have some faith in nocioni and he gets way too much time…for a garbage style of play and a garbage contract…what a steal the bulls got out of nocioni lol. If they can somehow trade away nocioni…maybe with kevin…maybe i’m wishing too much on that one..lol.

Thompson’s way too young and is gaining alot of experience..i’d say give him another year to learn..if he can’t get any better than 14ppg, 10rpg…for all the time he’s getting..i’d say trade him also.

    you wouldn’t want to see

westbrook, harden, durant, krystic and chandler
    or
    Westbrook, harden, durant, green, krystic.

I say if chandler can be healthy most of the season…they’re instantly an 8th seed or…maybe 7th.

I agree about Chandler helping out the Thunder definitely. I just wouldn’t trade Green to get him. Thunder could trade Mullens, Kristic, Sefolosha, Livingston, Ibaka….some combination of those players to get Chandler.

    I can’t stand Nocioni.

Oh and don’t you wish the Grizzlies drafted Evans instead of Thabeet….ouch. Thabeet is OK but Evans is a beast.

    so it’d be

westbrook, harden, durant, green and chandler

with a bench consisting of collison, weaver, white and watson? would they go into free agency strongly at that point?

Trading Kristic, Sefolosha, & Mullens would be enough to get Chandler IMO. The Thunder could keep Ibaka & Livingston.

Yeah they would make the playoffs with that roster if Chandler stays healthy.

They’d probably trade Watson, Atkins, and Mullens actually. NO almost gave him up for just watson and atkins so you know they don’t want much. Plus these contracts work out better.

the thunder could have had chandler for nothing. his toe must have been a major problem for the thunder to go back on that trade. if they didnt keep him when they got him then they wont trade important pieces for him

    no keep jason…

sac will be in the lottery next year and the lottery looks strong

they can keep there pick. and trade with another team a team like the wizards and the clippers of this year draft a team
that doesnt need a young player but need a proven player{kevin martian} to get them over the hunh and back in play off contention: charlotte…utah,,,>>>>HOUSTON<<<,,, and what other team that fails to live up to expectaion and slips into the lottery ala wizards and clippers of 09 draft whatever that team is sac should be looking to ship kevin out to keep that young core because i doubt the malouuf brother or however u spell their last name will get a team like boston did in 08
from trading their young talent and keeping their vet..their a small market

read what i said…i said with the minutes he gets…he better be able to produce more than what he could his rookie year.

from the amount of games i’ve focused on thompson…and for the hype and poor chris webber comparison i see flying around…i would expect to see thompson average 16ppg, 11rpg, 1.5 bpg this season. if he doesn’t do that…find a trade that still benefits the team….

    trading thompson makes no sense..

If JT doesn’t get 16 points, 11 rebounds, 1.5 blocks per game he needs to be traded? He’s going to be in his 2nd year in the league.

Tim Duncan last year had 19.3ppg, 10.7rbg and 1.7 bpg
Lamarcus Aldridge last year had 18.2ppg 7.5 rpg and 1bpg
David Lee last year had 16ppg and 11.7rpg

It is beyond ridiculous to say that if JT doesn’t put up all-star caliber numbers in his 2nd year of the league he should be traded. He averaged 11 and 7 last year which is solid for the #12 pick and a rookie. All he needs to do is improve on those numbers and he will be fine. He is an excellent young PF with a bright future. I don’t understand the lack of love for JT from some of you guys on this board. You’re saying he needs to average a double-double or he should be dealt. That’s crazy. Let the guy grow gradually like most players do in this league, he isn’t a guy who was going to come into this league and dominate immediately. It’s unfair to expect him to have all-star number expectations in his 2nd year in the league.

Thompson should and needs to stay in Sac. Him and Hawes make a solid, young 4-5 combo in the league with a lot of potential. That potential WILL NOT be met next year. JT should average about 14-8 and that is fine for the time being.

I hear what you are saying but the Kings will never make the playoffs with Thompson & Hawes in the starting lineup I promise you.

i think you fail at the point i made.

There are plenty of rookies that get a lot of hype..but only because they were consistent and dominated. brook lopez is as close as tim duncan that we’ve seen in years. mayo has the opportunity to be the 4th best SG in the next 2-3 years…behind kobe..wade..and roy…but thompson has done nothing too exciting and he gets way too many minutes for his numbers….

He gets way too much hype for a rookie. camparing him to chris webber made me laugh very hard…and this was from diehard king fans. it’s a joke to think thompson will ever do what chris webber did for the kings.

AT BEST…this kid could maybe once in his career average 20ppg….MAYBE… i really only see him being a 15ppg 10.5 rpg 1bpg player his whole career…which isn’t terrible and is decent. but i will not buy into the hype that so many fans put on thompson..it’s wrong…it’s too wishful thinking. he gets in foul trouble very quickly, he makes poor mistakes in the low post…. he will end up wanting the ball too much and that won’t work with players like martin and evans on the team.

if this kid is truely something great…he better average awesome numbers next year…or trade him for one of these upcoming powerfowards in this draft.

He is a little over-hyped, im not arguing that. He does make some mistakes, but he is a ROOKIE.

Your argument for trading him is “Some people say he will be Chris Webber, if he doesn’t get close to Webber numbers in his 2nd year in the league trade him”

You’re making no sense, im sorry.

Why trade him? Im not understanding.

If he is good enough to average 15,10.5,1 then what is trading him going to do? He is still a valuable asset, you act like those are terrible numbers.

is there a reason you feel they wont make the playoffs with those 2 starting?

One was a rookie averaging 11 and 7 in 28 mpg and the other was a soph averaging 11-7-2 in 29 mpg… Hawes isn’t exactly a banger and wont ever be an amazing center but he has potential to be similar to Vlade Divac-Brad Miller(who he is outperforming at this stage in his career)

Yeah they are both soft and to be point blank they are just average NBA players.

I think they can make the playoffs with those two starting… A championship might be another story… Thompson will need to toughen up some and become a better rebounder and really become a 20-10 player.. I think Hawes can become better than Vlade and Miller… As long as JT gets almost close to a Webber caliber-player the Kings have a chance.. But that’s less than probable that he becomes that good.

i’m glad you see the overhype.

    Pts 11.1 Reb 7.4 Ast 1.1 .6block, 28 minutes a game, 82 games.

no doubt he will get 32-34 minutes a game next year if he learns how to stay out of foul trouble. the thing is, players who get those minutes are number 2 options or all stars. jason is YEARS away from all star.

if he gets 32-34 minutes a game, the kid should be able to aver 14pg, 11rpg, 2apg, 2bpg. as a sophmore… if he ends up getting 12ppg, 9rpg, 1apg, 1bpg, which is more likely… ….do you see what i’m saying? Thompson at best is around #16-20th best powerfoward starter in the league. He might take too long to get up to the level we all expect him to. What happens if the kings get the first pick next year…and they sign a decent free agent with the nice cap space they’ll have?

People created the hype on this guy…and if he doesn’t live up to it..they’ll all call him a bust.

    14ppg, 11rpg, 2apg, 2bpg, for 32-34 minutes per game as he should get…if he doesn’t get this next year..OUT.

I dont think he will jump from 7 to 11 rebounds a game even with the increase in minutes.. I think he will end up with numbers like these:

    14ppg 9.5rbg 1bpg 1.5 apg

he was a rebounding champ in college also. i expect 11 rpg from this kid. especially after a full 82 games his rookie year and pushing through the wall in the last 20 games of the year.
