tonyl33ParticipantWith the 6th overall pick the Wolves should draft Jennings which will fill thier need with the PG. Give away one of the picks 18/28 to the Clippers/Hornets in exchange for Camby/Chandler. The Wolves will throw in Cardnal and Madsen to make the money right. This fills the needs for which ever team that trades with the wolves. Wolves get Center and the other team gets cap space. With the late pick in the 1st round take a PF or another PG. Since the PF/C is so weak in this draft they could possible take Hansbrough to replace Madsen. Typical wolves player.
Wolves will look something like this for the season:
Camby/Chandler
Jefferson
Gomes
Miller
Jennings
Foye
Brewer
Love
Telfair
Carney-Need to resign.
Hansbrough/late 1st round pickFoye needs to come off the bench as a 6th man who will take over the second unit just like Terry/Ben Gordon. These combo guards are only good for coming off the bench since they have no true position at the pg/sg position. This will make the wolves a deeper team.
What do you guys think?

bflaa2ParticipantAl Jefferson wants to play PF not C. So I think they should get a Camby or Chandler. I just cant see Jennings in a Wiolves jersey for some reason he seems to much like Telfair, however I would like him to be a wolve but I dont see it happening so I think they should get Hinrich and Draft Derozan and trade for one fop those two guys you mentioned. They will be a completely different team next year!

tonyl33ParticipantI was thinking maybe, the wolves can drop down in the draft and take Flynn and try to get Chandle where they can do the pick and roll and then have Jefferson work the post. But then Camby is also good because he has a nice 15-17 ft jumper to create space for jefferson. So I don’t know. I like either or for Camby and Chandler. Telfair is a good back up and Foye would be a good 6th man. Telfair isn’t bad, just too small to start because of size on defense and no J. Jennings is a taller pg and woul be better defensively. Fylnn is stronger and has a better jumper of them all and can lead a team.

d-grizzlyParticipanti think that’s a strong respectable lineup. Remember the run the wolves had in late december/early january?

te-real-dealParticipanti think they should trade mike miller for kirk hinrich too then draft someone like derozan or even jrue holiday instead of jennings… i think it would fit them better… one of them could be a starter or foye could step in at 2… seems he’s more comfortable there.
the hornets would probably jump at this trade for cap space immediately…0- Posted on: Tue, 05/26/2009 - 10:32am #153243
tonyl33ParticipantYou have to remember that Mike Miller is a pure scorer. He’s had such a hard time with the wolves because he is trying to create and play out of his game. What he does best is score and with a true point guard, I think we’ll see the old Mike Miller shooting lights out.

llperezI would’nt make this trade if I were the Wolves. Camby and Chandler are both injury prone and over-paid. I also don’t think either of those guys are major difference makers. I know the Jefferson/Love combo is short and will struggle against longer teams. But I would give that duo a chance to work out. Love can space the floor while Jefferson goes to work on the low box.

tonyl33ParticipantI like the Jefferson/Love duo but in the long run, they are going to get bang up and their D is weak. With Camby/Chandler they get a big to bang bodies and Love can come off the bench still, while Jefferson get bumps up to the 5 position still giving them that duo you like. This gives them a strong back court with 3 good Bigs. Wolves will have a little bit of money to spend with J Collins coming off their sheet and if they get rid of Cardinal that gives them more than enough money to invest.

QHaynes123If i was the t-wolves brass…heres what i would do…
Miller and the 6th for Wallace and the 12th. ( Gives you a 20ppg guy : you dont know about Jefferson)
2nd round pick,Foye and Brewer for Dalmbert and the 17( Gives you a pure C.)
18th pick, Carney and Telfair for Bayless and the 24th ( Gives you a talented, young PG)
With those picks
12- Holiday ( Gives you a solid defender who can play the 1 or 2) UCLA
17-Mullens( Best athlete at C, could be good by the time dalembert’s contract is up) Ohio State
24-Williams ( Instant upgrade at SG, could be a 15-5-5 guy by year 2.) Louisville
28-Claver ( International guy. Stash him away for a year or 2)0- Posted on: Tue, 05/26/2009 - 10:38am #153247
IowaAJParticipantI like trading for Wallace but if we give up Foye and Brewer for Dalembert no way I would do that deal. That would be a rip off

QHaynes123no it wouldnt..you get the 17th pick as well…Dalembert gives you a solid C
Foye is a good bench guy- but you replace him with a Bayless and others
Brewer is a bust…he gets hurt and when hes healthy he is not playing well.

tonyl33ParticipantThey have a need at Center and PG, all they need to do is upgrade and keep the core of guys. The guys now can move into their more natural position. Jefferson goes into PF/C and Loves goes into PF. Here is the following position as projected.
PG: Jennings, Telfair, FA
SG: Miller, Foye
SF: Gomes, Brewer, Cardney
PF: Jefferson, Love, Smith
C: Camby/Chandler, Possibly Mullens and FAThis will make a strong core for a rotation. They have a lot of guys who can play two position in, Foye(at his best at SG but can play some PG), Miller plays both sg sf, along with Brewer, and Cardney. Gomes is a SF and doesn’t have to play any more mintues at the pf because he’s undersize. Jefferson can spend much of his time at the PF postion and the wolves still get that Jefferson/Love combo that everyone likes. This way the don’t put them self into the same problems they’ve had before. The don’t have any long contracts because Camby and Chandlers only last for another 1-2 years and you have to pay them 4 mill more for an upgrade center. How often does that happen?

QHaynes123You have 3 1st rounders and 2 2nd rounders…
You had the 4th or 5th best shot to get the 1st pick
You have your best player coming off a ACL injury.
I think with the new GM and coach, they will try to impode the team. They have alot of young guys that are not cutting it
On that list, the only people that are untouchable are
Love, Jefferson and Gomes0 - Posted on: Tue, 05/26/2009 - 11:43am #153271
bron42Participanthe sucks and wouldn’t help the tem at all…callin him the best athlete at C in the draft is a joke. 9 ppg and 4 rebounds? HE has bust written all over him. They just drafted love, they don’t need anymore projects on the team. And cut brewer some slack, he was a rookie and then got hurt, you can’t really call him a bust yet until u see how he comes back from the acl.

Meditated StatesParticipantThey need him badly. If they could grab him and any shot blocking center they would come out of this draft real well. If they could get Thabeet and Kirk this team would be very good, if Brewer and Love get better. I like what I saw from Love last year and expect him to improve a great deal by next season. Love is not a project he is good. I think they made a mistake though having him and Jefferson next to each other they both are starting POWER FORWARDS in this league and we know who is better, Jefferson.

QHaynes123Why add 11 mil per year? Move down and take Maynor!!!

ch15r36isParticipantOutrageous trades that don’t make sense and will never happen.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 05/26/2009 - 2:09pm #153303

Meditated StatesParticipantKirk guards 1 and 2 position as good as anyone in the league don’t sleep. I would take Kirk over Maynor.
