    Nets:

Terrence Williams- This guy is going to be a big-time player next year on the wing. He continues to do everything on the court, and he does it with flair. Dazzles off the dribble and around the rim (that’s the 1st time I’ve ever said “dazzle” before…ha). Showed a potential weapon in his jumper off the dribble, one time making it from around the 3-point line. OUTSTANDING defense on Lance Stephenson when matched up head-to-head. Still needs to work on his shot and decision-making, he’s reckless with the ball sometimes. GET HIM IN THE DUNK CONTEST!

Derrick Favors- Played very well, especially in the 2nd half. Has a go-to move, a jump hook, that he’s had to go to since his drop step hasn’t been powerful enough to work against guys with similar amounts of strength as him. Made a mid-range shot on one occasion. Not a great passer, and rarely even looks to give the ball up. Defense is reliant on his athleticism rather than consistent fundamentals, which leads to a lot of fouls. Will battle for rebounds. He’s not ready to start as a rookie, needs more experience and a better motor.

Damion James- Shot horribly. Still, he had easily the best motor of any player on the floor. Showed flashes of that nice mid-range game he has in college. Very athletic and energetic. Can grind with PF’s from time to time, and shows a nice post-up game when he has a small matchup. Gets after the ball on both ends, and on the glass. Aggressive diver off the ball. Looks like a good rotation player next year. Has Gerald Wallace potential, as he can play SF and (in spurts) PF, with nice rebounding skills and energy for a wing.

Brian Zoubek- Sucks. Looked stiff and doesn’t rebound out of his area at all.

Ben Uzoh- Plays hard and has some nice speed and athleticism. He’s not very talented offensively though. Stephenson had some success when matched up with him.

Connor Atchley- Remember him from Texas? Shoots the ball well still. Still very weak and soft though.

    Pacers:

Lance Stephenson- After a dominant performance yesterday, he played a modest 2nd game. Was ineffective against Terrence Williams, a point-forward with similar size and great physical and athletic ability, on both ends. When matched up with Ben Uzoh, a smaller guard, he got back to his dominant ways. Showed more unselfishness than yesterday. Can find the open man. He didn’t play as good as he did yesterday, but he still had a good game. He should be Indiana’s starter next year, if they’re smart. He really has a lot of Tyreke Evans in him.

Paul George- His shot wasn’t falling, but he still had a resurgent game. Showed more energy and toughness than yesterday. Got after it on D, using his length well. At his best in transition, where his athleticism and length can wreak a little havoc. Tied the Summer League steals record. Rebounded well from what I saw. He has to improve his handle, that should be his top priority. It limits him in half-court sets a bit

Josh McRoberts- Showed some very nice wrinkles. Passed and dribbled the ball like he was a PG. Indy ran some offense through him, but he shot the ball too fast too much. Shot them out of the game. Defense was good, he got up for him matchup with Zoubek (maybe because their both from Duke I suppose). Rebounded OK.

Magnum Rolle- They should keep him around next season. He plays with energy and is a shot-blocker. Can also score facing up and in space. Dunked pretty hard on T-Will at one point.

that mcroberts to paul george alley-oop was ferocious

    my thoughts

damion james is an inconsistent shooter but a hard-worker who can cause matchup problems with his size and strength…had a couple strong drives to the basket and his post-up fadeaway jumpshot was a thing of beauty

terrence williams does a great job controlling the game but he’s not effective at all without the ball…his athleticism is insane and he’s a crafty scorer but he cant help out his team when the balls somewhere else

paul george has incredible upside, and so does lance stephenson…i think both players will be special for Indiana and I think both could end up starting at the 1 and 2

T-Will was a tad bit to trigger happy and McRoberts was a lot trigger happy I thought he settled for 2 many jumpshots

I actually watched the 2nd half of this game and I agree with everything. I was a lil upset at Favors until he took off and started playing aggressive.

It did help when they actually included him in plays. He does need to work on setting picks and establishing position because sometimes he looked weak against a player that was kinda skinny.

I loved Rolle’s activity and his athleticism and length but he has to get stronger but he could be a energy guy for Indiana though.

Indiana could not shoot 3’s for nothing

George got mad D but you are right about the ball handling thing.

Lance is more unselfish than people would give credit but Williams shut him down though but Williams is bigger and stronger and more experience so this is nothing new but I hope Lance learns from Gary Payton as well because Lance and Terrence has some similiarities.

Is it just me, or does T Will look like a LEGIT pg? He’s looked like the best player on the floor in every game so far… maybe it’s his confidence, he just looks like he’s a level above evere and is just there to make others better. Dude really looks good out there.

He needs to stop making so many risky passes, but he did control tempo and direct traffic like a PG. He’s not a true PG obviously, but he can definitely play PG for extended minutes

Pacers fans should be happy because of the potential Lance-George-Granger Trio.

George has some really long limbs. 7stls, and most of em were like reach arounds.

Indiana could have a really dangerous alternate lineup.

They could go with Stephenson, Rush, George, Granger and whoever.. Hibbert/Murphy.

What lance saw wit twill on him is more telling on how he might do in the regular season. The other guys who have matched up against him are bench players or d leaugers. If he starts or plays alot twill is the type of player he will see most nights plus better team
defense and more experienced vets. Much better to judge how he does against twill then the other guys who are just tryna make a team
    don’t ya think

it what you say is true Standford than he is still going to be good against most NBA defenses because if teams are putting a good defender like that on Stephenson than it opens up for other players. Also Stephenson did not have a terrible game but his teammates did not finish most of his passes.

Oh I know he didn’t have a terrible game I’m sayng it’s better to judge him against a NBA starting talent then it is agains a d leauge talent. He will have to adjust and pick his spots because unlike Evans he’s not coming into a team where he’s thefirst or second option

How often will Lance face a PG that’s that big and as athletic as Terrence Williams though? Think about it

Zoubeck did what he was brought into do which is be a big body and rebound(which he did better then favors). Loved how James played and I do hope Indy puts lance at the point and do trial by fire. I think that will make him better in the long run

Zoubek really struggled, McRoberts took alot of rebounds from him. You can’t let a finesse big like McRoberts take boards from you if your a rebounding specialist. Add in the fact that he sucks, and I have no clue why he got a deal before Summer League started like he was a 1st round pick or something.

Yet he still almost got ten boards. That makes it even wors that favors only got three rebounds. And lance won’t face twills everynight but he won’t face these dleaugers any night either which is why I say you have to take what these rookies do with a grain of salt since the comp is wayyyy worst then the regular season. Then take into account Better smarter team defense and less offensive chances. Zobuck pretty much is picked to get boards and big body. If it’s bad that he got 8 boards then it’s downright unforgivable that favors only got 3 while playing more mnutes

Favors didn’t get rebounds, I won’t argue that. He struggled getting rebounds, but he did fight and show more fight than Zoubek, who got his rebounds took from him by a shaky rebounder at best in McRoberts. Zoubek played shaky, don’t go by statlines in SL. It’s much more about how guys play and how aggressive they plays and what improvements they make in games rather than actual production.

I’m not going by stateline. Watched the game. Favors played ok. Zoubeck played ok for what he was brought to do. That’s actually a good thing he got all thoses boards while playing shakey because that can be fixed. Meaning once he’s less nervouse he can easily get double figure boards

Favors was a potential #1 pick to some this season, Brain Zoubek was at best a mid 2nd rounder, so the expectations are different. Favors should always outplay him. Zoubek will be 2nd or 3rd string. Signing him to a rookie min is a much better move thank signing darko mililic to 20 mill for 4 years.
