druchrisParticipantI make the prediction now (January) that Gary Payton Jr. will go Top 10 in the 2016 NBA Draft. I have a feeling that Jason Kidd’s Milwaukee Bucks will pull the trigger wherever their pick lands.
I see no reason why Gary Payton Jr isnt being considered a 1st round pick, because imo he’s age and production is easily comparable and arguably better than someone like Kris Dunn’s (whom Im also a fan of).
G. Payton II (6’3, 200) 23YearsOld
17.1PPG 5.3APG 8.3RPG 2.5SPG 2.5TOPG
K. Dunn (6’4, 220) 21YearsOld
17.7PPG 7.3APG 6.3RPG 3.2SPG 3.3TOPG
Believe me I know how much that 2 years in age difference matter but as far as development I think GPII has come a long way as a point guard from last year, his first against NCAA competition. I honestly wouldnt take any other point guard in the this draft besides Kris Dunn before GPII. For a team like Milwaukee that really only has a hole on their roster a point guard I believe Gary Payton could be a very intersting piece to add.
I do feel like his perimeter shooting will have to improve, as well as his facilitating. Where I think his upside and worth lies is in his defense. In the games that I watched of him his defense awareness to me is one-of-a-kind. In the same way that we never saw Kawhi Leonard ending up being the "premiere" wing in the NBA, I think Gary Payton II could have a similar rise.

Anton123ParticipantYour argument about Milwaukee is terrible. They desperately need shooting and Payton has made only eight threes this whole year. How would replacing MCW with Payton solve anything?
Also comparing Dunn and payton: Dunn is younger, bigger, a better shooter, and has better stats on a better team. I don’t see how comparing them is favourable for Payton.
It’s just hard to imagine a 23 year old will suddenly solve his shooting problems and how many defence-first guards survive in the NBA? He is like Patrick Beverly with a worse jump-shot, which is basically Ronnie Price. He has better size and can probably defend most SGs which will help him though.
I like him a lot and he has shown nice improvement but I don’t really understand most of your arguments and Melo Trimble and Jamal Murray and, maybe, though I’m not sure, Kahlil Felder look like better PG prospects than him.

GBeeParticipantI’ll go out on a limb and say Ivica Zubac who IMO is the best center prospect in Europe. I think he’d be the best center prospect in this draft should he declare.
He just left the team he originally started the year with and signed a new contract with NBA outs for every single year of the deal.

The GoatParticipantI think Gerges Niang will go somewhere. Theres notable reasons why he hasnt been included on boards but you have to acknowledge his production at the college level. I cant see why a team like Philly that needs help everyone wouldnt burn a 2nd rounder on him at very least.

BallerScriptParticipantNiang is one of my favourite players in this draft class. Smooth player in the post with a sweet jumper but he does have his limitations athletically.

TripleDoubleScoutParticipantYall heard it here first: Wade Baldwin- Top 12 pick. Top 10 if the lotto spots fall in the right order for him…

mamadouParticipantYou beat me, i’m high on him too, funny how jones was overrated AF and how he was underrated…
3 pts shot effortlessly, FTA, nasty physical tools, hustler, high level potential on D and a boatload of upside in the playmaking, decision making.
+ he’s a very young sophomore…
At the very worst he’ll be a rich man george hill, it’s a pretty weak draft, he should capitalize.
I raise on the prediction, with the 10th pick, the milwaukee bucks select Wade Baldwin the 4th from Vanderbilt university.

BallerScriptParticipantI like Georgios Papagiannis as a riser in this draft is he declares. He has great size at 7’2" and offensive skill with top level rim protection and a great looking midrange jumper.
