Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantIf Afflalo is in fact traded for Bledsoe, I think he could be ROY. If not, I don’t see it because Afflalo is a better player than Oladipo and will take a lot of his minutes.

Ny2daDeathOFmeParticipantbmack or alex len has a good chance for roy imo. If the suns trade gortat len will have the burden of holding down the fort and with bmac, weather or not evans stays i see him starting while getting alot of oppertunity and burn.

King CaluchaParticipantI suppose it could be someone receiving big minutes, like Zeller or Bennett (if he makes a successful transition to SF). Olynyk could be a starter in Boston, too.

MagikKnickParticipantI know it’s early, but now that you know WHERE the guys will be playing…
Who’s your super-early ROY Pick(s)?

B-ball fanParticipant1. Trey Burke – Very NBA ready pg who can score. Should earn big minutes right from the start.
2. Cody Zeller – Bobcats need scoring and he can bring it. Should receive big minutes given the Bobcats’ incompetence at the big man spots.
3. Anthony Bennett – I don’t know who he will defend, but he is the draft’s best scorer, which should enable him to put up numbers.
4. CJ McCollum – Trailblazers lack depth in the backcourt, so the minutes should be there for McCollum to score.
5. Victor Oladipo – His scoring may take a couple years to blossom in the NBA, which is why I have him listed this low, but he should get minutes and be a productive NBA player early in his career.
Honorable Mention: Shane Larkin – If he can defend well enough to earn minutes, he is in a great situation to put up numbers. The Mavericks spacing of the floor should allow him to get in the lane and score. We all saw how good Dirk made JJ Barea look three years ago.

HitsterParticipantCody Zeller sprang to mind as he could put up good stats as the Bobcats don’t have a load of frontcourt scoring options. Also McLemore could be interesting depending what happens with Evans in Sacramento.

omphalosParticipantBazz. If the T’Wolves can’t sign a starting SG I could see Bazz playing well for a team that should be competing for the playoffs. Rubio will get the best out of him and he could be more productive than a number of other players – look at the other guy’s situations – very few of them will be 1st options comig right in.

RafterParticipantTrey Burke? A guy who normally has a point to prove suddenly has even more incentive to make teams who passed on him pay not to mention he’s Utah’s undisputed starting point guard.

kazamParticipantI think Burke has a shot as Utah is in need of a playmaker. Burke has a chance to get huge minutes and put up respectable numbers!
I think Zeller will have a good first year, he can score the ball and on a team without any post scorers he will get the chance to showcase his skills.
I dont think Bennett will win ROY only because of the fact that he plays with Kyrie and Dion so I dont anticipate his numbers being huge.
I think Oladipo would be my choice as a dark horse. I say this because his offensive skills are still developing greatly. Defensively from day 1 i think he will be seen as a stopper. Most of his first year points I anticipate will come in transition.
Perhaps as an even bigger darkhorse will be MCW. The minutes Jrue Holidays departure opens up for him are enormous. Mind you, evan turner and MCW are sort of redundant i feel. Neither can shoot it much.

theTKOshowParticipantpgs that got picked to play right away in my opinion will have the best chance.
Trey burke: utah has a good supporting cast around and theyre young so he should get some easy stat padding numbers from pushing the ball
MCW: if that jumpshot is atleast slightly improved, hes got a shot since that team basically is going full rebuild but he wont have the suppporting cast that burke has. plus at 6″6, he can grab rebounds and disrupt on d so he may be one of those guys who has a full stat sheet.
my big man choice will have to be zeller. may not be the best player in the end but he seems ready to contribute and is going to a team where they need help with anything. mullens seemed to have a green light to do as he pleased so i dont see why zeller wont have the same. he can be a nice p&r or p&p partner for kemba

earldaniel31Participanti’d say Trey Burke because of his situation.. he comes to Utah as the lead guard.. can’t say the same to all the other players.. MCW will also given a chance to run his own team.. but Philly is a mess

aramboneParticipantZeller’s stats will look more gaudy getting extended minutes and an extra 8 points off layups in blowout losses tanking for wiggins.

MagikKnickParticipantBurke is a good option, as of now he’s the only PG on Utah’s roster with Kanter, Favors, and maybe Millsap/Jefferson to feed it to

jaysmith1987ParticipantBurke will win it he’s a pick and roll pg going to a pick and roll offense. I can see him putting up numbers close to Damian pillars considering Utah doesn’t have a dynamic scorer. Also he has good big men to dump it to. Also Utah is a borderline playoff team so if he gets them in I think he runs away with Roy and I see Utah taking the 8the spot in the west next year.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantI’ll go with Burke too. IMO he was the second best freshman in the country two years ago, and the best player in the country this past year, next year he will be ROY, Hayward will be shortlisted for 6th man of the year and Kanter and Favors will both be candidates for MIP

Sewok15ParticipantI’m calling back to back ROYs from Portland and CJ McCollum won’t be as spectacular as Lilllard but he will score enough to bring home ROY. Being very similar players I think Lillard can help McCollum find out what works in the NBA.
Darkhorse pick is Shane Larkin. He might have a chance to start and I have been high on him for a while. Playing the pick and pop with Dirk…or maybe even the pick and roll with Dwight could do wonders for a young rookie.

OhCanada-ParticipantTrey Burke and it won’t even be close. He goes to a team with no PG under contract and two or three of the ball dominant players (Mo Williams, Al Jefferson, Paul Millsap) leaving. Shots will be available and Favors and Kanter will live of the pick offensively. It should be similar to Lillards rookie year.
