How much would you pay for him? How much is too much for him? Would you gamble and make him happy and pay him big bucks(10mil or more a year) right now before the season starts? Or would you let him fish his own contract after the seasons and possibly lose a POTENTIAL top young PG?

He should be around 6-8mil a year but he’ll most likely get closer to 10-11 a year in which the Suns will most likely have buyers remorse. As a Suns fan I’m worried we’re going to overpay for him. I wait till end of the season and make him earn it but the way it’s been going teams are just signing these unproven commodities to big deals and I don’t expect any different.

Absolutely! Played 2k14 yesterday and they showed a stat ingame saying he was the 5th best scoring point guard. Is that right? Westbrook, Parker, Kyrie, Deron, Kemba?

But to be honest I really loved Kemba in his NCAA run cause ha played with do much heart and already was a leader. I have a feeling the Bobcats will be a much improved team this year especially defensively! With big Al in town there is a lot more use for all the specialists defensively like Biyombo.

I think 10 mill would be reasonable he has a very good work ethic and will continue to only get better.

Right now, Bledsoe is NOT worth 10mil/year. He projects to 14 PPG, 5 Rbs, 5 Assists per game, and those numbers are quite ordinary for a starting SG. (Remember, Dragic is the PG) Certainly not worth the 14 mil/year max he could be hoping for, at least at this point.

However, if he manages to break out this season, he could fetch the full 80 mil, 5 year max deal. This is the gamble that Phoenix must make. They want to save cap room, tank this season, land Wiggins (or similar) and then hopefully lure in a couple of good free agents. However, if they overpay for Bledsoe, that puts them in a financial hole right off the bat. It could be the difference maker in who they are able to sign in free agency (as FA’s want to join a winner) and of course, if Bledsoe is overpaid, you’re stuck with him.

SO the question is, do you sign Bledsoe now, and risk overpaying him, in hopes of having a 14 mil/year player on your roster for 10mil/year? Or do you wait and risk him being that good, and having to pay him for it?

If he plays exactly to projections, then the Suns are better off passing on anything north of 4 yr/32 mil. It’s a VERY tough call, but if I were the GM, I’d let him play the year out and worry about a contract when he’s a RFA. Then, Pheonix has all the power, whether they want to keep him or sign and trade him.

For one the big picture is 14,5,5 for a PG is pretty good, if Bledsoe get’s resigned to a big deal, Dragic is out the door and Bledsoe will be the Pg of the future, they aren’t going to keep both of them no way.

Well when we see Jennings and Tyreke Evans getting just over $8 million a season, I would have to peg Bledsoe at less than that, maybe $28 million over 4 years. But the Suns could always put a kicker in his contract if he reached certain stats or got any All Star recognition for example.

I agree that if we invest in Bledsoe then keeping Dragic long term does not make sense.

It doesn’t make sense and to the people negging they will see real soon that if the Suns sign Bledsoe to a big deal they will be looking to get rid of Dragic, it’s no need to keep both. They are going to look for a natural 2 guard to pair up with Bledsoe in the back court.

And for those saying Bledsoe is less than 10 Mil a year, how is he?

If he can get 15-5-5 he’s worth it because on the other side of the ball(Defense) he’s a monster, stop putting all your marbles on offense, Bledsoe gets after it on both ends of the floor.

When you look at the contracts of Jeff Teague and Brandon Jennings, I think Eric Bledsoe is worth somewhere around there. $8-9 million per season.

IF he thinks he’s worth more than that, then I’d let him prove himself this season and then test his worth on the market.
