JD’s_TimberpuppiesParticipantThe Suns really have a talented roster, but they have logjams in so many different areas. You really can’t have a team only composed of only stretch fours and pointguards. I get they are aqcuiring assets, but this team isn’t too far off from being a legit playoff team even in the West. They have to make a move. Any thoughts on what they may do? I get the feeling they will sign and trade Bledsoe, but to who? And could they include one of their stretch fours? They could use another good wing who can defend.

burgessfourParticipantthey are very deep. I really thought with such a deep roster and 3 first round picks last month that they were going to try to make one or more 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 deals. Maybe they’re waiting for next summer.

JD’s_TimberpuppiesParticipantToo many good players are gonna be riding the bench…They really aren’t in rebuild mode either, they can win now. Not saying they will go to the finals, but they’re ready to take the next step.

doubledribblerParticipantI agree on the depth thing. It makes me think they are in a good spot for a trade. I wonder if they could pull off something along the lines of a sign and trade for Kevin Love with Bledsoe (and yes I know Bledsoe would have to agree to go there, etc). I assume the salary Bledsoe wants is close to the salary love is getting and Phx could probably throw in some of the extra depth they have without messing with their rotation.

JD’s_TimberpuppiesParticipantWolves are locked in on Cleveland right now. This should be intereseting though because a pckage of a signed Bledsoe and Plumley could fetch a nice return. Then they could keep the Morris’ and run with Dragic, Green, Warren Thomas, and whoever they get back…A guy like Larry Sanders would be nice to obtain, they need a defensive anchor and he could potentially return to form. Knight is more of a combo guard to I see no issues with him playing next to Bledsoe. Yes Milwaukee would be getting the better end but with Bledsoe demanding the money they don’t want to pay they dont have much leverage.

caray12ParticipantThey need a post up big man. The team is such a drive and kick team but if they add a guy they can throw it down to 12-16 times a night they can contend. If they had to trade either Eric Bledsoe or Goran Dragic for a big man I would deal Goran Dragic because Eric Bledsoe is about 5 years younger. If I’m the Suns I would try to get Roy Hibbert from the Pacers. I know it’s a lopsided trade but Roy Hibbert help the Suns more than than Goran Dragic will help the Pacers.

dremill24Participantits still about the big picture. Unless somebody really falls off in the west they probably arent making the playoffs again. Short-term on the court, losing Frye will really hurt them. But its about the long term and paying a 30+ year old role player that kind of money would hurt the long term picture. They’re still in a good position for the future, as long as they hold onto Bledsoe. Theyve added a few more assets this summer without really cutting into their future salary commitments. They won way more than expected last year, but make no mistake they’re still rebuilding until they can acquire that big piece. If they had acquired LeBron or Bosh or Love they would have accelerated the process and grabbed more win-now pieces, but they didnt so theyre keeping themselves in position to pick up someone like that in the future. This year will be big for Markieff and Plumlee in particular, to find out if theyre making the strides to become full time starters. Len’s progress will also be important Bledsoe will need to show he can stay healthy.
Everyone is being impatient with this team but theyre still in a good position going fforward, they’re just not competing for a title this year

Chilbert arenasParticipantNeither Ennis nor Thomas are starters on a playoff team in my opinion so resigning Bledsoe should be their primary concern. You aren’t going to find another freak of an athlete who competes as hard as he does at the point guard position if you’re the Suns so lock him down!
Suns are thin in the front court. Plumlee and Len are their only two true bigs and that’s if Len can stay healthy and contribute at this point which I don’t see.

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantRumor was the Lakers were offering Jordan Hill, Julius Randle and Houston’s 1st round pick for a sign and trade for Eric Bledsoe.

HitsterParticipantAs a Suns fan, I’m still trying to figure out exactly what we are doing, we were considered likely to be a high lottery team but we won nearly 50 games so suddenly the roster looked a lot better than we thought it was.
Personally I think the GM is keeping his options open and is acquiring assets which he can use for trades or other teams will try to trade for to give us maximum flexability in the future to maybe get that All Star player we probably need to get to the next level.
