A number of NBA team doctors have reviewed the information from the NBA and have told their front office staff that Sullinger’s back issues could shorten his NBA career and some have advised their teams not to draft him in the first round.

 

He could possibly go into the 20’s IMO after this comes out.

 he may fall out of the lottery, but he wont fall that far….a team like the Celts could be licking their chops at the prospect of getting Sully with the 21st pick.

Undersized?  6’9 with a 7’2 wingspan is solid size for an NBA PF , but the back and lack of athleticism is not good for him.

 I’m just saying.. Blair was a potential lottery guy at one point. Sullinger would be a total gym below 20.

 Yep, undersized and not athletic. I bet all he does at the NBA is score, rebound and defend. You know, like he did in college for two years. 

Back issue is a problem. That often doesn’t go away.

It’s always tough to hear that a guy will slip so much because of his health. Hope it doesn’t hurt his career too much.

 could be a blessing in disguise, might fall to a good team, where he doesn’t have to be the guy right away and can mold into the go to guy in a few years.

Not sure he falls too too far but he should want to one of these places: 76ers, Mavericks, Celtics, Pacers, Grizzlies or Bulls.

 

If I were a player I’d rather slip a bit to fall into a good spot for me than vice versa.

 Don’t be surprised if he falls right into the Mavs lap at 17. They definitely would be the ones to take a gamble on him if he slides with those back problems because Dirk has no true backup at the 4 spot.

Should have left his freshman year, probably would have been a top 5 pick definitely would have went before the Morris twins.

This is just further evidence that if you are a lottery pick you should leave whether you are a freshmen or a junior. Many things can happen that could cost you millions of dollars.

Don’t be a "Captain Hindsight" and harp on "He should of gone last year".  The kid made the decision that made him happy and worked for him.  He is still going to make plenty of money as a player and don’t forget it’s that 2nd contract where you get paid not your 1st.  Sewok15 , should Blake Griffin of left OU after his freshmen year when he was a lottery pick?

 I’d love to see Sullinger in a Celtics uniform, hopefully his back problems can be alleviated with better conditioning, because otherwise his physical characteristics are great, and we all know about his skillset. If the Celtics could grab Sullinger then we should just let Bass walk if he wants anything more that $4-5 million a year.

If sullinger falls to the cavs later first round is there a chance that they take him, since he is an ohio native and could Thompson’s  back up? I dont think they would do it because they have other needs with depth concerns but wouldnt that be something

I like the South Park reference SpaceGrass but I always say if you are going to go in the lottery you should leave. I understand that you can better your stock and develop your game but if you really want to get better wouldn’t being a professional player be the quickest way to accomplish your goals. In Blake Griffins case he became the #1 overall pick but what if he tears his knee and loses the explosiveness that makes him special? I understand that with rookie slotting you are only making a certain amount of money but there is still a multi million dollar difference from going top 3 or 20th.

The only arguement that I can buy is that you are having fun playing college basketball and you and your family does not need the money. Most of these kids are not in the position to be turning down the league. I enjoy players staying in college because I actually prefer to watch the college game but that is from a fans perspective…from a purely business perspective 9 times out of 10 leaving school if you are a lotto pick is the right move.
