Lotto StudParticipantIn the trade machine I was able to pull a Asik for Rondo straight up. What are your thoughts, does it make sense to you, do you like it or not?

JordanC20ParticipantActually doesn’t seem too bad of a trade to me…especially with a draft like this. Now would be the time for the Celtics to pull off a trade like that.

FearTheStacheParticipantTerrible trade. Probably one of the worst ones. If there were multiple good picks going to the Celts than a big maybe, but in this trade, the Celts are getting rid of a top 20 player for an average at best center. I understand the tanking idea, but remember that the Celts right now would make the playoffs, without rondo. Adding asik would only make them better this season. I don’t see any good or valid reason the Celtics would ever do this, unless Danny Ainge is secretly a double agent for Houston

Lotto StudParticipantOf course I believe picks should be packaged as well but that’s not possible with the machine.

FearTheStacheParticipantCool, but what picks can be packaged? Don’t just say that picks would also go when we both know that the only thing Houston could offer would be their own, most likely incredibly low draft picks. That is not nearly enough for Boston.

Prime TimeParticipantRegardless of his injury, Rondo is one of the best point guards in the game. He’s an NBA Champion, multiple time All-Star, and been on multiple time all-NBA and all-Defensive teams. He’s one of the most unselfish players in the game with some of the best court-vision, and you suggest a straight up deal for Asik?
That’s one of the worst ideas that I’ve seen. Even if the Celtics were going to ship Rajon, they can get a lot more than just Asik.

aivsdirkParticipantthis is an unfair conversation for both guys started by some trade machine on espn.com which we dont understand how it makes its trades.
The celtics with a healthy rondo could contend fro a top 5 team in the east. I dont see this straight up. Think about it J.Lin at times can barely get the ball out of James Hardin’s hands imagine all 3 sharing the ball with Rondo there.
FearTheSatche, excuse me brother, or SharpShooter but asiek in my opinion is better than average and not over valued.Without him houston doesnt make the playoffs last year. I could see him making an immediate impact for boston, atlanta or dallas, as far as moving forward with a tough center in his prime.
Windy City i think you could probaly come up with a better trade involving asiek yourself. Dont look for ideas from esp with their trade machine. Look at their yearly rankings of the players that should be enough to make you realize its better to make your own trade ideas and opinions about players.

FearTheStacheParticipantIn a 30 team league, I can think of about 12 to 13 better centers than him. That means, by default, he is average.

NYK2010ParticipantWhat about Asik, Lin, Parsons, Montiejuas for Rondo, Wallace?
It work on cap and the Celtics would get a PG, SF, C and bench player.
Rockets would have a big 4 in Rondo, Harden, Wallace, Howard and more importantly would improve on defense at PG, SF.
Celtics would be probably win the Atlantic division with Lin, Crawford, Parsons, Green, Asik and Bradley, Lee, Bass, Humphries, Sullinger off the bench. They also move Rondo and Wallace’s contract, Lin/Asik are both expiring next yr and the other 2 are on cheap contracts.
Knicks aren’t healthy, Nets are a mess and just too old plus Lopez is out and I don’t trust Toronto’s offense. We’ll find out if the Raptors are real in the next 7 games with 3 against Miami & Indy.
