balltilifall5ParticipantThe fact that Amare Stoudemire is an abosulte freak athlete with the ability to score the ball is undebatable, however I believe that if he were to be shipped to Cleveland his numbers would go down. Amare benefits so greatly from the pick and roll ability of steve nash, as well as nash driving baseline and dishing to a diving amare. This is not at all the style of play Mo Williams is accustomed to. Amare would have to become what everyone knows he can be–a 11-12 rpg guy–and grab a few more offensive stick backs to maintain the scoring numbers that everyone knows he loves so much, thoughts?

droppindimes247ParticipantI would tend to disagree with your assesment. I am not denying Nash is an amazing distributor and floor general. But, you have to consider the KING JAMES EFFECT. He draws the defense too him and whats that Amare slashing to the tin??? JJ Hickson has put up some huge games with no jumper, but Amare in there and he thrives. Mo Williams is hurt right now but he is a runner and a gunner. As far as Amare needing more boards, Anderson Varejo, Big Z, Hickson, Shaq any of these guys on your radar??

balltilifall5ParticipantI am saying Amare would need more boards to keep the same scoring numbers, also if Amare were to arrive in cleveland, Big Z and Hickson would both be on there way out, and Varejao would probly see fewer minutes.

BlazermannParticipantIf this trade was to go down the pick and roll would be with lebron and would a strong 2n
option but he does need more rebounds0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/16/2010 - 8:12am #256776

esperanzafleet69Participantno chance ever that amare averages 11 to 12 rpg… amare is not benefited so much (stat wise) by steve nash’s pick and roll, but by the sheer number of possessions that the suns get… which is around 20 more per game than the average team…

balltilifall5ParticipantThat is a very good point, point for you! but if u watch a Phoenix game, Amare does score the majority of his buckets of freethrow line pick and pop, pick and roll, and diving when nash goes baseline.

droppindimes247ParticipantBalltilifal, Have you read the specs of the deal. A young player and a 1st round pick…..Big Z is not young so he would still be in the picture. The Suns are not really asking too much for Amare which is the real issue here.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/16/2010 - 8:19am #256787
balltilifall5ParticipantThat is false, it is a young player (to make the cap work) and a 1st round pick to go with the huge contract of big Z….Thus being my reasoning for saying JJ Hickson ( a young player) Big Z (a large expiring contract) and a 1st round pick…

esperanzafleet69Participantstop givin urself points droppin dimes… and btw hes right…..
also id love to go tell aldridge hes wrong… everybody at espn besides adande has no clue what theyre talking about anyways… 2 days ago they reported amare doesnt want to go to cavs… now today theyre saying he likes the idea…. if u were smart u wouldnt get ur info from espn… they are a bunch of idiots…
0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/16/2010 - 9:06am #256793
droppindimes247ParticipantOk hop on into the JA Adande lounge and drink the kool-aid. I like how your fat ass had too put your breathes inbetween each of your comments…..haha try hitting up some cardio. You are right espn is always wrong I am an idiot from getting my news from a trusted informant. Maybe I should get my tips from you, except I would have to probably watch you eat while doing so. Plus, no one ever said Amare did not want to go. Who said it where is your source and link to this supposed comment??? If you were smart you would make a point when you posted other then piggybacking someone elses posts.
PS – If you are from ESPN you won’t understand what I just typed cause you are all idiots. haha what a dumb an ignorant statement from a person who’s opinion is not taken

balltilifall5ParticipantIt would appear from the article on this very sight that the deal will be Big Z, Hickson, and a pick….if u dont believe me look at the ticker:
The Cavs, according to sources, are waiting for an answer with their offer that centers around Zydrunas Ilgauskas and J.J. Hickson but may include another player or draft pick. The Cavs have established other trade options, but they are waiting for resolution to their Stoudemire bid before doing anything else.

BiggysmallsParticipantWhile I have never been an Amare Stoudemire fan and I have always thought he is highly overrated, He is a huge upgrade for the Cavs over JJ Hickson. Which is why I wonder why the Suns would even want to do this trade. They get nothing in return. A 1st round draft pick? Big whoop…They’d have probably one of the 3 last picks in the 1st round where they can get a player to come in and sit on the bench. JJ Hickson…What has he ever done other then dunk the ball? The trade makes no sense.
Amare would not score as many points undoubtedly. He is not a classic 4 man…he never scores on isolation plays where he makes a move and scores on a guy. He’s a pick and roll, pick and pop, stand under the hoop and catch passes and finish kind of player. But he’s darn good at that. Though it should be asked…how would he mesh with Shaq again? Isnt that why Phoenix traded Shaq in the 1st place…he didnt mesh well with the Suns team.

the I in winParticipantHis scoring would go down for this season but they would be good next season when shaq is gone.

kurtu17Participanti agree lebron has the King James affect…and Amare stats might go down this year but utimatly will be a better player..because ppl who play for rings that are all stars tend to be a better player in ppl eyes and have bigger contracts…so if i was him i would either go to clevleand and show ppl he can play for a contender…
another place that would be good for him would be Chicago….i think if he goes there he and Rose can lead that team…and they would a just a bench scorer from being a title contender
0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/16/2010 - 1:17pm #256854
quinceyhodgesi agree with half of what you said…but i think chi is further from being a contender then just a bench player and amare. hes good but not that good. they are barely a playoff team now. even with wade i see them as possibly the second -4th best team in the east

esperanzafleet69Participantdroppin dimes go look at that espn.. especially chad ford… and i guarentee u that u find wrong information…

kurtu17Participantits not just amare and a bench player that will help them…its another year…Rose getting better, noah getting better, boston getting older…ok maybe contender but they def beat Boston and atlanta in the play offs….and they will give cleveland and orlando some fits…
0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/16/2010 - 2:13pm #256870
fastdanParticipantJust to clear up someones post earlier…The suns average 83.5 possessions a game, and cleveland averages 76.7, which is the 2nd lowest in the league. League average looks to be around 81-82
