I was watching this yesterday and I have to say I agree with Stephen Smith staing that the league is contradicting their concept of being a "union", a "body", while you have these players going elsewhere to play ball. I do understand that most of these players either rather not get involved on the business side of the NBA while others are pesimistic about the lockout ending so they look to other means of finnancial income. What are your opinons?

At first, when I heard that players might be going overseas, I thought it was kind of cool. But, it seems to have gotten to the point of being ridiculous. I think the focus needs to be on getting a deal done, and that the players get little to no leverage by doing things like the tour that they are planning. While I do indeed think it is great for the fans in all of the places they are visiting, it seems to be doing next to nothing as far as getting the NBA season started.

If their really was solidarity, they would be focused on starting this season. I am guessing Derek Fisher is totally cool with this world tour, but I highly doubt that he said, "Yeah guys, do this to make the owners sweat". How would it be accomplishing that? Simply put, it doesn’t. It probably makes the owners even less sympathetic to a group of players earning less money on this tour than they would be if they were focused on the NBA season starting as soon as possible. I think most people who have read what I wrote know I have been sided with the players, but I think that they need to buckle down and make a deal, because this has gotten out of hand. They have every right to make money, but if they are doing it at the cost of starting a season with a fatter pay check, than that just makes incredibly little sense.

whats gonna be really ridiculous is if a deal is reached… and all of those nba players use their out clauses… most of those teams will lose a player or 2..

Majority of people I know think Stephen A. Smith is stupid, but he had some good points in this video. He does have flashes of brilliance and here is a funny video of him:

    Enjoy!
