BleedGreen808ParticipantThrough 3 games Steph Curry is putting on a show. In just 98 minutes on the court he has put up 118pts. He is averaging 39.3pts, 7.3asts, 5.6rebs, and 2.3stls per game. He is also extremely efficient, shooting 58.8% from the field, 48.5% from 3, and 95% from the free throw line.
I know it’s early but he’s clearly showing why he was MVP last year and should be one of if not the favorite this year as well. He is is easily one of the most fun players to watch in the NBA.

JDB12ParticipantNot one of the most… He’s the most exciting player to watch in the NBA. And that’s saying something because he doesn’t even throw down any highlight dunks, and I usually think players like that are generally more exciting to watch, in my opinion. But Steph is absolutely going bananas right now and it’s impressive. Like I said in another comment, I think he’s going to increase his scoring per game while improving his efficiency. I’m guessing he’ll average around 26ppg, 7apg, 4.5rpg, while having a 50/40/90 season. If his stats around here and the Warriors take the leagues best record again, he’ll take home MVP unless someone else has an unbelievable year.

BleedGreen808ParticipantI just saw a tweet from Tom Haberstroh on espn.com that says the only players that have scored 118 or more points in the first three games of the year are MJ, Wilt, Jerry West, and now Steph Curry. This Warriors team looks like they are locked in and looking to repeat.

RioRepParticipantCurry is playing like he’s a magician and can do anything he wants. His confidence is out of this world right now. Golden State is once again the favourite to win it all again this season.

NBAjunkie81Participantbut they are Legit World Champions & they are Built for long term success… After a 4 year tank-a – palooza…. That saw GSW average about 28 wins each between 2009 – 2012 – while acquiring Steph Curry. Klay Thompson, Harrison Barnes & Draymon-ster Green – they jumped in on the MEGA trade that Destroyed two contending Franchises in 2012 – Phila 76ers & L.A. Lakers & shockingly emerged the winner of that trade when they quietly picked up the final "Major" piece to their "New" – contender – team: eventual NBA Finals MVP Andre Igudola…
This team is young & in a position to contend for the "Chip" every year for the next 5 years… we are witnessing the growth of the Steph Curry Legend….

NBAjunkie81Participantpost directly above & must have been leaning on a button (I think???) – I actually have No idea what I did but when I posted, that unfinished partial piece posted & repeated 4 times – I feel like I ruined a great thread – I’m terribly sorry for the error, I know it’s really annoying & makes no sense…

IlladelphParticipantI don’t think the Warriors are "under the radar". They are the defending champs, and Curry is now one of the most high profile players in the game.
Gotta say of the Cali teams I always liked the Warriors. They have always been an afterthought and been viewed as second rate. But I always liked them as the underdog Cali team. Started really liking them in the runTMC era.
It’s funny but even now, as world champions they are getting called out for being lucky and somehow not really championship caliber. It’s ridiculous, but I think that for so long now the Warriors have been so generic that it is so hard to shift into thinking that they are really an awesome team with an amazing young core. It’s funny but I think that it is going to take winning another championship or even two before the league, fans, and media, are prepared to accept that the Warriors are champions.

SlickBouncePassParticipanti’ve just accepted that there is a geographical bias.
Jodie Meeks moves from the Sixers to the Lakers and all of a sudden he is a sniper/weapon. I used to think "this is the same Jodie Meeks right?".
There is definitely a NY/LA bias and thats fine because it just reflects the dynamics of the country and allows you to be happy knowing you know what you know and how most of the rest of the country is just a big marketing hype-job.
GSW did a phenomenal job at the other half of tanking, which is what SA does, which is drafting the best players and striking gold one year. Clearly their GM had a brillaint plan and eye for talent to build around what he drafted and get them all playing together, unlike say a Billy King, smh.
I believe the Sixers did that with Embiid, who had a surgery similar to what Durant did and Durant is suddenly back to #2 coming back from the Surgery. if Embiid can stop drinking shirley-temples, I think we have that guy. Not worried about the PG and the current guard situation. They’ll draft a swing man and some shooters this year. But Embiid is the centerpiece.

NBAjunkie81Participantput together that team w/ those players – Every media outlet in the country & especially espn would Already have christened them a dynatsy & would be asking if Steph Curry is going to be the greatest of all time… I have Never seen a 67 win team go thru the NBA like a Buzz Saw on their way to a Title & featuring the League MVP this disrecpected… I’m not a GSW fan but they are poised to win Several Rings after being a 20+ win team just 3 years ago & they do not get Any where near the respect they deserve… the biased national media – that cater to the glamour franchises just do not want to believe this team is for real…

SwatLakeCityParticipantI admit it, early on (back in 2009 when he was drafted 7th by the Warriors), I had my doubts about this guy from Davidson. I knew the Knicks wanted him and were hoping he was still available with the 9th pick. I knew he could shoot. But that’s all I knew about him. When he was drafted, I thought he would be similar to Monta Ellis. (Not a bust by any means, but certainly a much lesser player than he actually is) Boy, was I wrong. This guy from Davidson, can do it all. That no look flip over his head pass to Harrison Barnes said it all to me. This guy is unreal!
(Last year was the year I realized that the Warriors had drafted a superstar back in 2009) Took me six years to realize that, and now he is unreal. He has already passed "the sky is the limit" notion and gone straight into the stratosphere. Maybe I’m being a little too giddy early on, but man this guy just keeps getting better and better, and proving all the naysayers, like me, wrong.
