Captain_CharismaParticipantSteals
Trey Thompkins
Chandler Parsons
Andrew Goudelock
Nikola Vucevic
DeAndre Liggins
Kieth Benson
Scotty Hopson
*I think Thompkins will be an all-star, while the rest of these guys will be good/solid starters/bench players.
Busts
Tristan Thompson
Kemba Walker
Kawhi Leonard
Marcus Morris
Chris Singleton
Bismack Biyombo
Tyler Honeycutt
Josh Selby
Kyle Singler
*I see some of these guys washing out of the NBA quickly, some of these guys like Kemba/Tristan who won’t be terrible players but just disapointments and will never be more than an average bench player for an average team aka non-impact players.
BTW, I’m done with all my peeps, I’m tired of you all screwing me out of the WHC.

Anton123ParticipantTyler Honeycutt, Josh Selby and Singler are mid-late first round picks right now, I don’t think they could really be called busts even if they don’t pan out. I mean no one calls JR Giddens a bust.

Captain_CharismaParticipantbut I just wanted to add more names to list of busts to even out the number of steals and busts. but regardless, those guys will not be much in the NBA
that’s how I roll

Anton123ParticipantJeremy Tyler might pan out and be a pretty good centre.
Actually I feel like this draft won’t have many busts. No one expects any of the players outside the top 3 to be superstars so if they turn out to be good role players everyone will be happy and I really think that most of them will.

boshjonesfordParticipantReggie Jackson is gonna be a flat out steal (reminds of Russel Westbrook)
good offensive game + amazing athletisim +extreamly quick + amazing defese (potential / long arms)
needs to work on play making ablity which is not bad and will probobly get better he is still young
really underrated

d-ravParticipantStats wise, Chris Singleton will probably be a bust, but his role will primarily be that defensive stopper, hence his value will probably be held in high regard for the team that drafts him; enough to be a starter even (whoever that may be) and throughout the league (see; Mbah a Moute). Naming Kemba a bust also, while it makes sense given he’s a tad bit undersized and not much of a facilitator, I have to disagree because his gamestyle suits perfectly to the league (open, a lot more isolation), thus allowing him to exploit his offensive skills. Though of course it’d have to depend on the team that drafts him.

NCarmean18ParticipantFirst off, you have to go with a guy that was an all-american high school player in Jereme Richmond. He can spread the floor and play very solid defense. The only thing he lacks is a consistant jump shot as he is unuaually good at getting to the basket. I don’t think he’s tall enough or even strong enough to play the 4 in the NBA, but if he is willing to tack on about 20 pounds over the next three years and play in the NBA D-League, I think he could become a solid NBA player, especially if he could add a consistant medium ranger – 3 pt jump shot.
I honestly think Jimmer Fredette will be a steal as well. This guy has all the potential to be a dominating guard in the NBA. He is very underrated when it comes to driving to the basket and creating space for his teammates. I watched him last year, and while he didn’t do it as consistantly as you’d like a point guard to do it, he definitely was capable. He already has a solid jump shot with incredible range, and is not scared of any moment. He definitely should have a good NBA career.
Finally, Marshon Brooks will be a steal for anyone who takes him. Right now, I have him being taken by the New York Knicks with the #17 pick. This guy is a dominate scorer, as he proved this past season. He even put up 50 points in a single game, if I do remember correctly. (Please correct me if I’m wrong) He is a solid shooter, and will play good defense and guard the perimeter well. I think he has a solid future in this league. He can nail open jumpers and draw in the defense to get open looks for guys like Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire, if he indeed does get drafted to the New York Knicks.
If he does get selected by the New York Knicks, you can expect him to start. Their starting rotation would look something like this:
G: Chauncey Billups
G: Marshon Brooks
F: Landy Fields
F: Carmelo Anthony
C: Amare Stoudemire

KasiusParticipantUnderrated: Tyler Honeycutt, Nikola Vucevic, Kyle Singler, Marshon Brooks, Shelvin Mack, Davis Bertans and Travis Leslie.
Overrated: Brandon Knight (overrated about Kemba), Kawhi Leonard, Marcus&Markieff Morris, Josh Selby and Darius Morris (¿Andre Miller? WTF).

ghrghrParticipant^^
Of course there is no way of knowing right now. Just trying to predict who will be a steal or bust.
To me the Morris twins won’t be more than bench warmers in the league. Marcus is a tweener and they both don’t have elite athleticism.
As for steals, if Jimmer doesn’t go top 10 he can be considered a steal. Say all you want about his game not transitioning to the NBA, he will be at least a good 6th man if he puts his mind to it and accepts his role.

JoeWolf1I don’t think Singler will be a bust at all. I think he’ll drop to the 2nd round and let’s face it, if you’re taken in the 2nd round and get a non guaranteed contract it’s hard to consider that player a bust.
I think Singler will be a bit of a steal. I think he’ll go in the 2nd round, make a roster, and play a while as a bench scorer.
@ghrghr, You call out the Morris twins to be nothing more than bench warmers despite an advanced skill set because of the lack of elite athleticism, and then you say Jimmer will be a steal who is another very skilled player without elite athleticism and is a tweener as well. If athleticism is such a knock, why pick Jimmer? He tested average and so did the twins, they are about the same caliber of athlete.

bloodshyParticipantPeople keep saying Jimmer lacks athleticism, but he actually tested well beyond expectations. His overall ranking of the 53 players @ the combine was 12.
The Morris twins didn’t impress. That said, there’s more to Marcus than his numbers indicate. I think he’ll be a starter in the NBA w/in 2-3 years. His bro probably never will be.

OhCanada-ParticipantIm very thrown off by all these report having Charles Jenkins going as high as 17 to the Knicks, they are apparently interested in him there. Any team that picks him there is setting themselves u for failure imo.
Jeremy Tyler looks like an absolute monster, he is big, strong, athletic, and has tons of milage.
Isaiah Thomas is still a force to be reckoned with. We an talk all we want about Norris Cole, Iman Shumpert, Malcolm Lee, etc. but the fact still remains that Thomas is an amazing talent, had he hit a 4 inch growth spurt he would be a lotto consideration.
Singleton I think will be a great NBA player for a long time. One of those guys teams wish they had on their team as a defensivepresence.

B-ball fanParticipantOverrated: Brandon Knight, Kemba Walker, Jordan Hamilton, Tristan Thompson
Underrated: Jimmer Fredette, Norris Cole, DeAndre Liggins,
0- Posted on: Sun, 06/12/2011 - 6:45am #543372

bloodshyParticipantI agree that Kemba/Tristan are overrated & your underrateds are solid.
Knight: Disagree. Knight is an absolute stud baller and team leader who put up 17ppg and led his team to the final 4 despite lacking a ton of polish as a freshman in the NCAA. In a normal draft he clearly wouldn’t go as high as currently projected, but he’s a top-10 pick in any draft. He’s a burner speed-wise and has NBA range. If developed for 1-2 years, the sky is the limit for this kid. I’m pretty sure he’s still 18. (However, as a Jazz fan I don’t want him @ 3.)
Hamilton: Disagree. Hamilton has the size, talent and skill to make a difference as a 3 in the NBA. His poor decision making usually was due to his role (primary offensive weapon @ TX). In the NBA he won’t have tough offensive decisions early. I think he’ll be a legit starter for the next 10. (As a Jazz fan I wouldn’t mind him @ 12.)

ghrghrParticipantJoewolf,
Jimmer has in his shooting a skill that will make his NBA carreer. I’m biased as a Jimmer fan, but I think he will be solid, even more than some of the guys some people have going in the top 10.
Saying Jimmer will be a steal was me as a fan talking, but saying the Morris twins won’t be good isn’t. I liked their game at KU, but I don’t see it translating into the NBA. Marcus can shoot the 3 ball which is great for big men, but will he shoot the NBA 3 well enough to get the coaches’ green light to shoot it? They are good rebounders, but will they be able to do as well against men bigger, stronger and who jump higher than them? They are both ok to bad FT shooters.
Saying they’ll be bench-warmers may be too harsh on them. They can be rotation players, people say they have great work ethic.

Meditated StatesParticipantI mentioned him earlier this season and people said not an NBA player. He creates preety good and has above average vision. I think he is going to keep getting better and make some teams regret taking some of these other PG. I also like Chandler Parsons as a sleeper too. His game will compliment NBA super stars well.

PlatypusParticipantyou cant really pick who will be a bust until we know where they are
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/12/2011 - 8:48am #543420

rileymcshea3Participantbiggest steal is Jonas Valanciunas this guy could be a big star he is young and suppose to be over 7 foot tall and he has a 7"6 wingspan .He has a motor and is a high energy guy with a soft touch and a nice mid range jumpe. Good basketball IQ and good court vision and can pass good .The only problem is his strength but with him going to the NBA that wont be a problem he can add muscle easily with his big shoulders.
SO if Jonas goes he could easily be the biggest steal.
