ChammesParticipantCan someone tell me what the hell has happened to him? It feels like hes forgot about in Detroit, so what’s the issues with him? His offense is still very unreliable but would a change of scenery help? And what kind of Player will he be in the future?

tblazer_NZParticipantI think he’ll bounce back a bit with Stan gone and a new coach in place.

ChammesParticipantBut with the way they’re team is built and the strong wing class coming in it looks like he may be the odd man out

esperanzafleet69Participanthe shoots 28% from 3 as a wing, but can defend and ball handle. shooting outside of a layup/dunk is a big problem for him. unless he can start hitting a 40% clip (which if he did, hed be damn good) his role is the last bench player. he needs to go to every sort of shooting specialist out there.

CoachWyersParticipantI think he will actually start at the 3 this year and split time playing about 23 minutes a game so very similar stats to last year.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThere’s a video going around right now w/ Johnson, Melo & Brandon Jennings playing king of the court & Johnson just doesn’t look good to me at all. He looks stiff. No rhythm. No advanced ball handling. He’s just strong. Dude moves like Ron Artest in his late years.
GR3 is better than him.

Andv1 WaitingParticipantSo Stan J is that wild card could he be a good player-Maybe, Could have made Stan mad meaning off to the bench you go-Yes, Could he have not been developed or taken initiative to develop his game further maybe.
But personally I could see him either getting back to that Confident player he first came in to the league that went at lebron in the playoffs either under Cassey(who seems to develop players alright) or via Trade teams he might look ok on:
OKC he could play Buldog defense and run and gun with Russ getting him easy looks.
Spurs-Pop could maybe do something for him as they tend to give people a chance and help nuture their players more.
Rockets-Could maybe turn him into a trevor Ariza type player.
Indiana-Maybe he could be an interesting fit with Oladipo as they could lock teams up..Nate M could also maybe get him to work.
Orlando-Clifford could use Bamba,Issac and Stan to lock teams up also..

GBeeParticipantHe’s turned into a decent defender, but nothing special on that end. Offensively, I can’t think of one thing he does at an average level. Its not for lack of confidence either, hes just not skilled enough. He shoots a hard ball with very little touch. Doesn’t create his own offense well. For such a strong body, has no idea how to draw fouls. Doesnt have the quickness to get to the rim consistently and has no in between game. To me this is a make or break year for him. Either he finds a role this year and proves to be starter quality or he’s an 8th-9th man on a team for the rest of his NBA career.

BeastMode716ParticipantI was looking over his stats & stumbled on to Stanley Johnson & I was thinking the exact same thing
This guy looked like a the pro-type NBA 3 & D Wing
Johnson is built like a mack truck, very athletic, could dribble drive & shoot the 3 in college
And maybe he will turn it around now that Stan is gone b/c he’s no friend to young players
But it just shows what a crap shoot the Draft truly is
