The Scare Crow RisesParticipantI’m going to lay out some ideas I had while reading through the weekly forum threads and articles out there in ESPNland…
So David Blatt has been fired and I thought about him replacing Sam Mitchell in Minnesota to develop the Wiggins/Towns duo, I think it makes sense and would allow Blatt to coach the Prospect he envisioned coaching when he took the Cleveland gig…No pressure, with a high reward if you get lucky in the Draft…
Sticking with Cleveland, it’s clear they have win it all this year or risk losing Leblame James for the second time in a decade due to poor team management/no balls…They may have to make the hard and unpopular decision to trade Irving and/or Love before the Deadline for an All In move, something that adds depth whilst also adding long term Plan B prospects/picks…Boston/Philly/Pelicans have some young players and picks that they could include if Love is involved…Love for Anderson and Gordon makes some sense if Cleveland gets back a 1st rounder next season from N.O, Ryan and Eric spread the floor as much as Love, Irving for Conley makes some sense if you can convince Memphis that a scorer like Kyrie could help push them closer to a title before Randolph and Gasol get too old…
Are the Lakers going to make a move to get better or worse at the Deadline, Clarkson and Randle are very good trade chips if they feel like going for a player like Love, I believe they’d like to add a star player before free agency, they shed all the Kobe salary next year and could eat a contract like Love and surround He and Russell with guys like Whiteside and Derozen, they’ll add a Sf like Brown or Ingram if they keep their pick
Russell, Derozen, Brown, Love and Whiteside seems like a solid team IMO, just have to find a way to convince Cleveland to take Clarkson, Randle and maybe Lou Williams and Nick Young for Kevin Love, the Lakers may need a 3rd team with Cap Space to take on salary(76ers if they unprotect the pick this year barring it’s not #1) Sixers could throw in a guy like Covington or Grant so that the Lakers have some options at SF going forward…
The SUNS, wow they have to do something their roster, Bledsoe or Knight has to be traded to open up time for Booker and Len needs to start as soon as he’s healthy enough, meaning Chandler has to go to a contender like Chicago with Noah out, Taj Gibson and some pieces should get it done IMO, let Gasol and Mirotic play around Chandler and Portis and that’s a win/win, gotta beat Cleveland and Tyson has experience
