Talented but undisciplined, tough but abrasive, gritty but self-absorbed, a natural scorer but also a natural ball movement killer, passionate about basketball but mentally unstable, definitely an enigma, a polarizing player, an icon, and a symbol of the new flashiness-over-character direction professional sports are headed.

Refused to obey coaches, beat up his girlfriends, worshipped himself, …yet, pound-for-pound, one of the most electric six-foot-nothin’, 170-pound little guys to ever touch a basketball.

    POOP(Scout: Craig Simpson)
Iverson is a very special player. He is not a true point guard, more
of an Isiah Thomas type who can score and also dish the ball. With
experience, Iverson should get better as a PG.

His strenghts are his quickness and overall athletic ability. He is
an excellent defender and is adapt at getting steals (his 3.4 average
was second in the nation). Georgetown used him in a full court
pressing game meant to totally disrupt the opponents offense. More
often then not, it was successful. Offensively, Iverson is great on
the break and is an excellent penetrator.

This is not to say that Iverson does not have any weaknesses. He does
not have a very good shot (at least it is very inconsistent). One pro
scout described him as Abdu-Raulf (of the Nuggets) *without* the jump
shot. I take it that this means that the scout does not think that
Iverson can be a complete NBA PG. I don't really agree with that
comparison and believe that when he grows up some, Iverson will be an
    All-Star for years to come.

Iverson should be picked in the top 5.

    MORE POOP(Scout: Owen P O’Malley)
    General Info:
First team All-American. Big East Conference Defensive
                 Player of the Year.
    Comments:
Extremely fast, quick guard. Tends to play out of
control. Has the athletic ability and confidence to
                 dominate a game.
    Summary:
He'll probably be the first player selected.
