Meditated StatesParticipantNo 1. They need to rest players at times though f#ck the regular season.

SteroidParticipantThe Lakers are. Who is going to beat them in a 7 game series? I know ther are other teams who started out hot at the beginning of this season, but I just don’t see anyone beating the Lakers. Even without Bynum, I believe they still would make it to the finals.

JoeWolf1Spurs, this is San Antonio’s last run at a title before old age sets in. They have some nice younger role players and are playing great ball. Their core is getting up there in age, but I don’t see them as a group that falls apart towards the end of the season. I think they know this too and all seem motivated. Manu is playing fantastic ball right now too, I think he’s easily one of the most underrated players in the league.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantIf the Jazz had just beaten the Spurs OR Mavs at home I think I would for the first time in 13 years be comfortable saying UTAH…they’ve beaten LA, Orlando (twice), Miami, OKC, NO, ATL, and they’re 17-7 without Okur, who not only started at least 72 games for them 6 straight years before this, but his floor spacing ability is so valuable to them. With a healthy Okur they would finally have the necessary size to beat the Lakers, and in the last 7 months Deron Williams has blossomed into a superstar, Millsap into a legit 2nd option and C.J. Miles into an ideal 6th man (see: 26 points in 22 minutes last night). Raja Bell and Francisco Elson provide much needed defensive/veteran presences and Al Jefferson is a baller. They can never be counted out of games and something just tells me Sloan will not quit w/o a championship and this year feels special. I still think they’re more dynamic than the Mavs, who rely too heavily on Dirk and their bench. Tonight will be a great game.

IndianaBasketballParticipant"and in the last 7 months Deron Williams has blossomed into a superstar"
You’re a little late… Deron has BEEN a superstar for the past few seasons.
I’d still go with either the Lakers or Celtics. IF healthy, I think the Celtics are the only team that can beat the Lakers in a seven game series.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantI wouldn’t say DWill was necessarily a superstar until late last year. Before that he was just an elite point guard and most people would not have had him on their top 10 list in the league, and I don’t think there 10 legitimate superstars. Tons of stars, sure, but not superstars. The Kobes, Lebrons, they’re superstars. I think people throw the term around too recklessly. But Deron certainly is one now.

QUINCEY HODGES1Lakers or Celtics still. With the lakers they always seem to lose when they shouldn’t int he regular season but then they step it up in the playoffs. When bynum comes back they will be alot better then they are now even though right now they are still very good.

goneParticipantI think the Spurs come out of the because Timmy isnt playing that much now I just got a feeling he has one last 25 and 11 playoff run in him besides tony parker is a matchup problem for LA spillter still hasnt got any consistent play and who knows how effective bynum will be when he comes back.
The Celtics out of the East too many bigs, too much depth, Rondo playing amazing, KG semi-back, too much chemistry.
Celtics win it all

andxxxParticipantI think its the Celtics easily if their healthy did yall forget about last year if kendric Perkins wasn’t out and Ray Allen’s shooting wasn’t so awful, and the rebounds they would’ve easily won game 7. With Shaq, JO, and when Perkins comes back that solves the rebounding. Look at how KG looks if he stays this healthy the Lakers will not beat them or any other team for that matter

Dont forget to add if they had it going offensively in the 4th, if Kg would have played tougher, if artest didnt hit that 3, if they didnt blow that double digit lead, if the refs wouldnt have missed that one call, if if if if…
@nycereal…No one has beat a healthy lakers team in a 7 game series so im going with the lakers.

IndianaBasketballParticipantIF the Lakers and Celtics match up again, I think it’d be an evenly matched game. IF both teams are healthy, I’d go with the Lakers in seven.

llperezits gonna be a dog fight in both conferences. San antonio has really emerged as a contender for the lakers. LA needs to get bynum back. Celtics are the favorite in the east but i will never count out a team that has both lebron and wade.

QUINCEY HODGES1Wasn’t Bynum hurt for the playoffs and against the Celtics? So IF Bynum was healthy then the Lakers would have won 4-2. Or if Kobe was fully healthy it might have been 4-1. Since we are playing the IF game aka the sore loser game

llperezexactly. Bynum and ariza were both injured in 2008. You think those guys might have helped a little defensively? Pierce might have a little tougher time with ariza as opposed to vladmir radmanovic. But the celtics lose kendrick perkins who is their worst starter for 1 game and the celtics use that excuse. Perkins would have helped on the boards, but his absence wasnt the reason they scored 79 points. In fact rasheed wallace who started for perkins was one of their better offensive players that game. Face it, celtics lost and that was with kobe shooting 6-24.

andxxxParticipantRay Allen was 5-21 in that game with a bunch of open looks I doubt that happens and there BS foul call for Gasol in a crucial portion of that game that switched momentum to the Lakers and KG was not himself in that series

llperezexactly, Im sure there were bs calls both ways. Kobe wasnt himself. At the end of the day, you either win or lose. Its just funny to me people act like the celtics are undefeated when healthy while ignoring the 2008 finals completely.

JJeff6ParticipantHey…and Miami has won now 7 in a row, maybe they have finally hit their stride, so its basically gonna come down to the Celts, Magic, and Heat for the east, but in the West I see Spurs and Lakers and Jazz three way race with Dallas not far behind. It will most likely be a Celtics-Lakers Matchup AGAIN this year.
