All star weekend is going to look different this time around.
With a plethora of rule changes, (there is an article about it on nba.com now) I can not help but think that Silver is trying to put his stamp on this new era of the NBA.
No more individual dunk contest champions. Skills challenge as a 2 vs. 2 relay. A whole rack of money balls in the 3pt contest…

I hate change for change’s sake. Slam dunk needs an out-and-out WINNER, not this weak ‘dunker of the night’ crap. A whole rack of money balls? Lol. The 3pt comp was fine how it was.

The 3pt competition was probably something that didn’t even need changed, but they are just trying to spice it up because the allstar weekend has been so BORING. The dunk contest the past couple of years hasn’t even been fun to watch. I think doing a 1vs1 contest would be great, but allstar weekend just isn’t what it use to be.

Not a fan of the new format. The all-star weeknd hasn’t been exciting mainly because the dunk contest has been lackluster. None of the players that people want to see in it participate. It’s a start this year by having 3 all-stars, but the format is horrible. We also need some solid judging, players get ripped of every year in it.
