valentinebetween Lebron and Curry, Lebron is still the best passer (he is), better rebounder, better defender, better finisher, better athtlete, better leader, while Curry is basically the better shooter. Yet he is now viewed by everyone the better player because of a 14 game stretch. Let’s not bring up any stats in this argument, and try to validate your opinion on why Curry is the better overral player. Let me laugh a little.

negguaryParticipantAt this point it isn’t a laughable statement. However, people are confusing being the hottest player in the world with the best! Lebron is still better, but right now curry is just on fire! #chefcurry

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantLebron is the best Overall Player in The World still, due to all the things you’ve brought up already
But Steph Curry is the best Scorer in the World and is redefining what the NBA is headed in the future, to me Steph Curry is the New Logo, he’s Jerry West for a New Era of NBA fans, he should be what every player aspires to become…
Lebron can still be the best player while Steph is the best Scorer, Wilt and Bill Russell were clearly better overall players than West but Jerry is the Logo, basketball is a sport where the MAIN object is to put the round ball in the cylinder and Curry is currently the best at that, period, Durant and others can score too, but Curry doesn’t have a 7’0+ wing span, 4.3 speed and a 40 inch vertical, people like myself never saw this coming either…
Don’t pretend like Curry doesn’t deserve every thing he’s getting right now, he started his career at Davidson, and he’s now the biggest star not named Lebron in the NBA, amazing…

RUDEBOY_Participantthose who really know the game of b ball will say lebron’s the better player.but curry has himself & his team on a record pace the nba have never seen.he’s putting up some impressive stats.
curry is averaging 10 more pts than he did last yr when he won mvp.he made a record 286 last yr.he will break that record some time in february. he’s on a pace to 429 three pointers, blowing away last season’s record.add in the fact his team is unbeaten and the nba’s best team.
you can clearly make a case for him as the best player.

circumlocution75Participantthings that Lebron does that Curry can not do…. But what Curry Can do is scores buckets in bunches & w/ minimal effort b/c of his range & that creates an incredible amout of spacing…. & another Big issue that we Never talk about is in grinding playoff games…. Lebron has to work so hard to score & a lot of times his teammates are standing around watching….. B/c of Curry’s incredible range, the flow of GSW’s team is Never disrupted….
It’s almost like Shaq in reverse – people complain he could only do One thing…. But that "One thing" was unstoppable & it also opened Tons of space for his teammates….. Curry does the same thing "Outside" that Shaq used to do "inside…" I hope I don’t get killed for that comparison….. but the results are hard to ignore….

adumParticipantYes Curry is on a Hot streak but before it he was still considered an ELITE talent in basketball. He’s doing things no one has done before with consistency. It’s not that he’s just "Shooting" but how, when and where he’s shooting. His defense is underrated(quick hands) and even though his assists are down he is still a top flight playmaker.
In my eyes Lebron is the still Best player on earth but Curry is right behind him and if he keeps up this ridiculous play we will be forced to admit that he is the BEST player.

trelos6ParticipantIf you had to pick 1 player, to make 1 shot, against an 8" 300 lbs alien, and the future of the world was riding on that 1 play, you would pick a Curry 30 footer. It’s insane, but it goes to show just how insane Curry is playing and making shots regularly that other players would be using for a game of HORSE.

You’re not as good as meParticipantCurry or Lebron?
If the ultimate goal is NBA championships, would you rather be a Lebron led Cavalier or a Curry led warrior?
Ultimately wouldn’t you rather be a Warrior?

tuck243ParticipantNo brainer…LeBron…
He has more championships and more trips to the Finals.
One championship and a 15-0 start shouldn’t erase LeBron’s accolades. Memory loss?
This is more a similar case with Steve Nash. Most people on this site thought Curry shouldn’t have won MVP last year. Then the following year he’s BETTER than he was last year and his team has a better record. Now people lose their minds and say junk like this.
Fact is Curry took a long time to peak in the league. He received that contract he has because he couldn’t stay on the court. I’m glad he’s starting to kill, but some of the things people are saying is just ridiculous.
LeBron is and always been the better player. I don’t understand the shift now. In fact, some of these people were saying Anthony Davis is better than LeBron (who currently been to the playoffs once and sitting at 3-11 now) . It’s almost like Batman "you either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become a villain". What’s crazy is the same thing happened to Kobe. It’s almost laughable seeing the transition on this site at times. Guys are READY to deem someone else the greatest and a year and a few weeks is all it takes.

ZachAttackParticipantK, so I see what you’re saying on here all the time. I’ve heard from many that Curry is the best in the world. But, what people don’t understand is the difference between best in the world, and MVP.
Now, I’m a Lebron hater, I really am. But I know enough about basketball to know that he is the best in the world. As much as I don’t want to say it, I know that he is.
So, Lebron is the best player in the world. But, MVP means Most Valuable Player. Meaning most valuable player to their team. Do you think Golden State would be NEARLY as good as they are without Curry. No one on that team can shoot like Curry, and they wouldn’t be this good without him. Now, the Cavs wouldn’t be as good without Lebron as well. But, the Cavs have a fairly decent supporting cast beside Lebron. They’ve got Kyrie, K-Love, and guys like Mo Williams and Delly. That team could be a playoff team. I just can’t see the Warriors being a playoff team aside from maybe an eighth seed without Curry.
Do you think Draymond would be anywhere near as good as he is without Curry. Because I don’t. Do you think Klay would get all those open looks without Curry. Klay isn’t enough of a playmaker to hit the shots he does without being semi-open. Curry makes that Warriors team, while Lebron has a good enough supporting cast to get by without him. MVP is completely different from best in the world. And MVP is what I hear most people call Stephen Curry.
