I’m a little suprised with The Thunder and Twolves getting two players, the rockets only getting one, and the jazz getting none. You could make an argument that Paul was third team over Butler/George, and maybe a case for Gobert over Towns. Hard to argue with the first team, even though Giannis is not in it,  unless you say he’s a guard, and bump out Lillard.

Really Happy to see Dame get on that 1st team. Dosent soften getting skunked in the 1st Rd but finally getting the recognition he deserves. He been putting D.Rose Mvp numbers for the past couple seasons and struggled to even make a All-star game.

Never really like DeMar Derozens game. I would honestly rather see a Devin Booker or Bradley Beal instead but team success obviously plays a success but Booker, Mitchell and Beal are Definitely coming.

Definitely some big names out there that did not make the list bc of injury. Cousins, Kyrie, Wall and Kawhi. Solid teams glad to see a little bit of movement and new faces amongst the teams

A little surprised by KAT, George and Butler. Maybe not statistically, but overall i think Horford shouldve made third teamas one forward. Gobert, Capela, Drummond or even Jokic had claims over KAT as the five because of Boogies injury. The other forward spot is debatable. George and Butler had good seasons, i suppose one of  them makes it but i dont think that they were notably better than Khris Middleton  or Draymond Green for example.

Some interesting side notes related to making the All Nba Teams. Embiid failed to make 1st team. So he’s not eligible for a 30% increase in max deal. So the 76ers have 5 million dollars to use on free agents this summer.  Klay Thompson failed to make all NBA, so he isn’t eligible for the Max extension this summer. But he has to make all nba next season to be eligible for the Max next year. It’s going to be interesting to see what will be the outcome in his free agency.Anthony Davis meet the max criteria making All Nba 2-3 seasons makes him eligible for the largest contract in nba next year of 230 million dollars. With a cap hit of 39.7 in 2020. DAAAmmmm!! 40 MILLION A Year!!!

Leaving out Horford is a travesty. I would have put him on my first team.

He is the heart and soul of the Celtics, the anchor of their defense, their best passer and their go-to guy in a halfcourt offense. There has the be a Celtic somewhere on the all-NBA squad — they finished with the 4th best record and are a game away from the finals! (I know that last part doesn’t count, but still.)

Also, CP3 should have made it; I would say 2nd team. Yes he missed a bunch of games, but they were early-season games. When he and Harden played together the Rockets were basically unbeatable.  And the Rockets clearly should get at least two all-NBA players.

Minor squabbles: Advanced stats and me both think Ben Simmons was the best player on the Sixers and I would have given him the all-NBA nod rather than Embiid. Rudy Gobert only played about 2/3 of a season, but when he played the Jazz were historically great at defense. The Raptors deserved two all-NBA guys and Lowry is still a top-five point guard according to all advanced metrics I’ve seen.

I was surprised CP3 didn’t make one of the teams although he missed 24 games, Jimmy Butler missed 23 games and got in.

Also no Boston player featuring at all is a travesty.

Al Horford is one of those guys who although he is a 5 time All Star his raw stats aren’t that great but his overall effectiveness is much more than his basic stats suggest. A bit surprising he had never made an All Defensive Team before this year too.

Jrue Holiday was another guy who had an excellent season, his best ever scoring year and made All Defensive First Team so he could have been in mix for 3rd team IMO.
