tyrekeevansParticipantMan tune into ESPN2 right now, Skip is freakin getting on my nervous. Wtf. is he talking about. Man he is freakin dumb as fuck. Man who esle hates skip.

Wavy BagelsParticipantI’m not going to go that far and say I HATE Skip Bayless, but look at it like this: He makes sports debates quite entertaining.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/26/2012 - 3:41pm #688461

ChrisCrossParticipantI’m sorta with Skip on most of these draft prospects. Althoug I disagree with him on Beal and Barnes. Oh and J’covan Brown being a steal……lol wtf?
Stephan A Smith is hating on Sully.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/26/2012 - 3:58pm #688473

DolanCareParticipantSkip says he would support the Bobcats drafting Rivers at #2. What?????
Casual basketball fans always gravitate towards isolation games and confidence.

Cavaliers420ParticipantSkips main part of the show is to be antagonizing and say the opposite of whatever Stephen A says, they want us to dislike him. Sometimes he makes decent points though. Usually he’s an ass though.

SubZeroParticipantStephen A. was trashing Sullinger pretty bad. And yeah, I think Skip is literally the only person on the face of the planet that J’Covan Brown will be the steal of the entire draft. He might be the best out of the undraftees, but definitely not the whole draft
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/26/2012 - 4:08pm #688488

Meditated StatesParticipantDude comes across as a house n199@. Sullinger might be a steal. Like the NFL, the combine is overrated. It does not tell you he averaged 18 and 9 and shot 40 from three. In a halfcourt game I suspect he lives at the line and shoots mid 70’s. He will board a lot. NBA strenght and condition coach. Never thought he would be a sleeper.

aamir543ParticipantI always thought he was fake and does it for shock response to get more viewers, but after watching him and Stephen A go at it everyday for the past month, I actually think he believes the blasphemous stuff he says, although the sad part is that lost in the ridiculousness of his statements, he’s an extremely insightful guy, but sometimes he makes you want to throw your remote against the TV. But I watch that show because of Stephen A, he knows his stuff, and I was upset when he disapeared from the ESPN shows for a good 3 years, I hope he covers the draft even though he doesn’t know much about the prospects, lol.

NbanflguyParticipantYesterday Skip was asked to grade Lebron’s playoff performance and he said he can not possibly go higher than a 7/10. His reasoning was because Lebron’s teammates played well and Lebron made a lot of jumpers that he doesnt normally make. Some great solid logic right there………..
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/26/2012 - 4:13pm #688484

What The DevilParticipantI actually agreed with Skip on some of his points about the draft. The Brown being a steal thing is rather crazy but ah well…
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/26/2012 - 4:13pm #688490
lilballa141ParticipantAll you need to know about skip
He’d take Austin Rivers #2 but not Bradley Beal
He thinks the second best player in draft is MKG and its not close ( im not debating it cuz i like MKG and his potential) but to just disrespect the likes of what Beal, Drummond, PJ3 COULD become is crazy
He would take J Sully in the lottery but not Zeller
And the most hilarious out of them all… J’covan Brown being a steal.. let alone a rotation player

Seamo15ParticipantAs much as I hate him, he does make some hilariously ludicrous points. The thing that really kills me is his self righteous tone .

aamir543Participant^Can you please find the Lebron special from yesterday, I missed that one, thanks.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/26/2012 - 4:28pm #688505
doubledribblerParticipantJust curious, but why would it be so crazy to take Austin Rivers at 2? I have liked Beal for awhile now, but I hear so many people say that after Davis, there are a lot of equivalent guys. I think Beal and Rivers are different players, but I’m not sure it’s some amazing stretch to think that Rivers could be better. Every year we see late first rounders and 2nd round picks that end up being better than lottery picks. You can look at the past drafts on here to see that.

SpacegrassParticipantA buddy of mine has worked in radio and is friends and has worked with Bomani Jones doing radio. He has always said that Skip is the majority of the time saying what he has to say so he can be the antaganonist and essentially get cheap thrills. Skip apparently is much more intelligent than he comes across at times on TV.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/26/2012 - 4:37pm #688512
JaiphParticipantBayless should only be allowed to speak when Mark Cuban is in the room.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/26/2012 - 4:39pm #688508

sheltwon3ParticipantI am not a fan of skip Bayless at all. Steven A is cool sometimes because he is decisive on issues. You either agree with him or you disagree with him. Skip seems wishy washy. I have issues with Steven A Smith because dude act like sort of a hole but since I could also be accused of doing this, I can’t be to harsh against him.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/26/2012 - 4:43pm #688516

For_Never_EverParticipantI agreed with a lot he has said. Most analyst think and talk like every prospect is an Allstar. He has been good for years now with his input on the draft.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/26/2012 - 4:49pm #688515

UNCbasketballbumParticipantlet’s put it this way, Skip Bayless is NOT on TV because of his knowledge of basketball..
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/26/2012 - 5:07pm #688527

Malik-UniversalParticipantskip bayless says stupid retarded sh*t to get views people….. thats what makes a sports show more enticing is debate….. this guy knows his stuff but will say ludacris things to get stephen a’s testerone levels flowing
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/26/2012 - 5:11pm #688533
SpacegrassParticipantMalik is right about it being a more enticing debate. Look at TV in general and the shows with more conflict and argument are the most popular shows.
What I was surprised to hear on the "First Take" NBA Draft Show was Chad Ford thought Rivers is going to be the biggest lottery bust. Ford even went as far to say he could see Rivers struggling to stay in the league after 4 or 5 years. His reasoning was he was worried about Rivers mentality not being a good match for his game. Meaning he felt Rivers wants to play like Kobe while not being anymore than OJ Mayo talent wise. He was worried that overconfidence could result in clashing with coaches as well. Was very surprised to hear that from a guy who has followed the draft for a long time and has him going 10 in the draft.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/26/2012 - 5:12pm #688535

For_Never_EverParticipantThink about the numbers of prospects he wasn’t sold on like OJ Mayo, Darko, Beasley, other guys I can’t name right now. Also one thing he has never done is make players taller than they really are. Analyst will usually say a PG that is 6’1 and say he is 6’3, the same with a 6’8 PF and say he is 6’10. He has been right on with their height.

I’ve been saying this for months and months about Rivers.
Superstar mentality, without the game to back it up. IF he doesn’t humble himself and learn to play without the ball, etc… He’s going to have a rude awakening in the NBA. He’s not good enough to be the next ball dominant superstar.
I see him receiving a rude awakening like OJ Mayo has.

Memphis MadnessParticipantI like Sully, but with a bad back that would hurt his future. I think medical issues drop him down. Without them he would be a 10-15 pick, but even with a balky back I think he should go between 18-22. I think he will outperform a bunch of guys ahead of him.
I can see Jared Sullinger being a solid player for 8 to 10 years.

dolla130Participanti dislike skip but when it comes to drafts and prospects he is usually dead on ill give credit where credit is due

For_Never_EverParticipantCan you think of anyone that was sold on Kevin Love other than Skipp Bayless ?
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/26/2012 - 6:03pm #688564
and1rodman91ParticipantI swear I dislike the man very much. and If I meet him one day. I hope to own him in sports debate.

Meditated StatesParticipantBobcats need a star scorer. Someone the fans come to see everynight.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/26/2012 - 7:07pm #688595

sheltwon3ParticipantChad Ford like a lot of people has favorites. They fall in love with certain players. They tend to make their drafts off of what people are telling them. Chad loves MKG who is raw and can not shoot. Doug Golieb or whatever his name is does not live him too much. I think people put too much stock in positions and who is on TV. Me and my homeboy just had tons of conversation about free agency and this draft and we would come closer collectively thatn what this so called reporters say. There are some move we predicted would happen. It is scary when we predict stuff spot on. Sometimes stuff like NOH and Washington shock us like I am sure it shocked everyone.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/26/2012 - 7:14pm #688605

DolanCareParticipantChad Ford was definitely off-base to say that Rivers would ‘bust out of the league’ in a few years. But I agreed with everything else he said. Very very few players can dominate off the dribble. In order to be successful in this aspect you need to be either: a) a great passer who forces defenders to worry about passing lanes. b)a dominate shooter who forces defenders to play very close. c) simply physical/athletic specimen (ala D Wade). Rivers does that fit any of these really.

Frezeal33ParticipantI am not a big fan of Skip at all.
I love Stephen A. Smith.
But Skip? Nah.
