So Skal Labissiere looks good. He looks like a stretch PF/C that has a bright future. He has been willing to mix it up and play hard on both ends of the court from the highlights I watched and quarter of the Kings Spurs game I watched. Seems as if a lot of GM’s may have messed this one up and I’m not sure why. He got rave revues dude during the predraft process. His interviews all seemed exceptional and despite his leg injuries in Haiti their were no real red-flags other than his poor play as a freshman but he had a ggoodexcuse for that, not playing competitive ball for a while, eligibility issues and playing out of position.

Maybe I’m wrong but it just seems like he has way more talent than Ellenson, Yabusele, Johnson, Siakam and maybe even Hernangomez and Sabonis. Nit to say those guys arent talented in thier own right but Labissiere has something special. Only guys that I would definitely pick ahead of him after watching them play some more through Summer League are Maker, Chriss, Bender and Poeltl.

I think it may have been due to the cap increase nobody wanted to waste bird rights on a project player that may have panned out so he went way late 1st.

Its still early but its nice to see him playing well and despite my Raps not picking him twice when he is the exact type of player we needed to PF/C going forward I hope the best for him too.

But then again he doesn’t look much better than Christian Wood and for some reason even that guy struggles to stay on rosters.

Skal was the projected number 1 pick this time last year. I think he could end up being a very good player. He looks like he has gained 15-20 pounds of muscle since the first KU game I saw him in.

do you see the Kings trading Cousins? Being a Kings fan, I wouldn’t mind a trade for a top quality point guard (assuming Skal pans out).

They don’t play the same position. Skal isn’t a center. He would compliment Cousins

I think the owner has done everything to defend Cousins. He’d rather lose the coach. Until they signed Aflalo, I thought they were going with a youth movement. And even if they were, Cousins is young enough to be a part of it.

Having said that, I’d love to see starting PF Skal C WCS. If they trade Cousins, they better get a haul that includes a future franchise guy. The Celtics still hold all the cards.

It’s too bad Cousins won’t be around when Skal actually starts to produce at the level many thought he could at the next level before his drop this season, if he ever can.

Unless he is developed while Boogie’s around before he gets traded or leaves in free agency before winning a championship on a megateam, if he does.

I’ve never seen a guy suck as badly as Skal did in college then turn into a stud NBA player. I’m taking his summer league stuff with a massive grain of salt (that seems oxymoronic) – maybe one of the big azz salt-lick type things that cows use.

The Kings have picked in the Lottery between picks #4 – #8 Every year since 2009 when they picked Tyreke Evans #4 overall.

In 2010 they selected Boogie Cousins #5; in 2011 they traded the #7 pick to Charlotte & moved back to #10 where they selected Jimmer Ferdette; in 2012, Kings selected Tomas Robinson #5.

In 2013, w/ the #7 pick it was Ben Mclemore; w/ the #8 pick in 2014 it was Nik Stauskus; in 2015 it was Willie Cauley-Stein

& then the Kings gave the Sixers 2014 #8 pick Nic Stuaskus (who Sux) plus pick swaps in 2016 & 2017 + the Kings #1 pick in 2019 for the Sixers to Eat Jason Thompson’s salary — so the Kings could gain Cap spce to sign Rajon Rondo & Marco Belenelli

One year later & Both Rondo & Bellenelli are Gone. in the 2016 Draft, the Kings passed on Marquis Chriss & traded the #9 pick for Phoenix’s #13 & #29 picks!?!?!?! Sacramento is probably the ONLY team in the NBA who would give up a Top 10 Lottery pick for 2 Later picks 1st round picks

They Draft a Center & a PF w/ the #13 & #29 picks. Why not Draft PF Chriss at #9 & pair him w/ WCS at C  — There is your front court of the future.

Wait until the Trade Dealine when Boston is Desperate b/c Al Horford is Not a force in the Paint & offer Boogie Cousins for the Nets 2017 #1 pick & hold firm. Now even if they Must swap their own 2017 pick w/ Phila, they will Still get a Top 10 pick. Let’s say it’s the #10 pick & Phila get’s Sacramento’s #7 pick. But the Nets pick goes #3 overall. They can grab Markelle Fultz at #3 & Malik Monk at #10 — there is there Back court Right there.Or maybe they still like Maclemore & take Jason Tatum at #3 & Frank Ntilikina at #10

Now they got something nice going on.They got a Starting 5 all 23 & under & now their fans can get Exceited about Youth. I’m just Spitballing here but I just do Not understand who is running that team & Why they can Not engineer a Long Term plan & Stick to it — sorry for the long post
