The Twin Tower Era has begun in Philadelphia

Noel and Joel at Pf and C going forward is a very interesting front court…A possible Robinson and Duncan type duo down low, paired with an improved MCW

Dario Saric will likely come over a polished product and provide us another playmaker in the front court

Drafting a proven guy with athleticism in KJ McDaniels and and another athletic guy with up side in Jeremi Grant in the second round is very smart, senior shot maker Russ Smith will also provide a spark off the bench at the very least, Vasiije Micic and Nemanja Dangubic could be players you never ever off again or role players in a few years, time will tell or every player drafted…

The 76ers core going forward looks

MCW, Noel, Embiid, Saric, McDaniels, Wroten, Russ, the Serbian stash picks and Thad Young if he sticks around (He’s lasted this long right LOL)

And we still maintain Max Cap space!!!

What’s the potential for this roster with another Lottery pick next June (Mundiay???)

Really wanted Wiggins and Saric going into the draft. Can’t say I’m that happy with the Embiid pick, would’ve much rather taken Exum and played him at 2 or traded the pick.

6ers are the faves to land the 2nd pick next year and sign the next injured wannabe so they can be draft hopefuls in 2016.

Remember a week ago when a mock draft or two had you getting Wiggins and Randle? Ahh memories.

Russ Smith got dealt to the Pelicans for Pierre Jackson.

The 76ers did well. It helps getting guys projected as first round picks as second rounders in KJ McDaniels and Jerami Grant. The Dario Saric deal looks good considering they drafted Elfrid Payton two picks before Saric and were able to reaquire one of their future first round picks along with a second round pick next year. If Embiid stays healthy the 76ers will be the big winner.

Can someone help me with this….didn’t the sixers draft pierre jackson last year, then traded him draft day for a second round pick….and didn’t we just use a 2nd round pick to re-aquire him?…Was there a point to this that I’m missing or am I mistaken?

if i were a sixer fan i would be scared right now……..wondering why they didnt combine picks to move up for a more quality player, wouldn’t have mattered b/c all these rookies they got makes me nervous, what are they trying to achieve again?

They are building assets. Looking to give up little to potentially get back alot. BPA all the time but its a little different. BPA as in Best Potential Asset. Micic and Dangubic as late seconds, Pierre Jackson who tore up the D-League, Grant and Mcdaniels in the 2nd round.

Phillys 2nd round looks better than Toronto’s draft.

They top it off by grabbing Jordan Mcrae who I have watched alot of. I think he can be a good player and is in a position to succeed as he is a good shooter surrounded by players who cant shoot.

The only picks I liked were KJ McDaniels, and the steal of the second round Jerami Grant.   I went to the Carrier Dome to see the Orange play Duke in that hyped up game back in February, and he and CJ Fair literally kept them in the game and eventually won it for them by themselves against Jabari Parker and Co.  So, Jerami was the best pick up of the night for us.  Hopefully they don’t trade Grant nor McDaniels.  I seriously don’t know WTF Sam Stinkie was thinking drafting those serbian busts when we could still have gotten CJ Fair, Patric Young, and Melvin Ejim to close out our second round.  Maybe they can still give those players that went undrafted another chance to prove themselves during the Summer League coming up.

So Noel hasn’t played a game yet and you guys drafted a better player in Embiid and Saric won’t come over from overseas for two years starting to like this Jrue Holiday trade more and more. Really don’t understand why you guys say we got robbed

I read on hoopshype that Saric said after the draft that he was open to coming over as early as next season depending on what the sixers and the turkish club can work out….next year might be unlikely but you never know.

I would be LIVID if I was a 6ers fan…   You tank all last year and didn’t get any better in the near future?  You take a guy in Saric that possibly will never come over here or for at least 2 years…  And the often injured Embiid won’t play for 4-6 months…  This shouldn’t bring hope to the Sixers..

Embiid wont play this year. It woudl be foolish to not let that bone completely heal its 6 monthsbefore he can even begin rehabilitation. And then he neesd time to work back to game shape and he is a rookie you wont see him this season.

Did Philly really just tank a whole year to draft two players who won’t play next year?

    Hope season tickets are cheap.

I feel like I’m the only person who doesn’t think Noel is going to amount to much. He’s certainly not going to be a twin tower offensive force.

I am not a Sixers fan but come 1 or 2 years I will definitely be watching a few Sixers games. I love the Sixers picks. Yeah they took a risk on Embiid and it might end up backfiring in the end but oh well, they got Saric too. Saric and Noel should work well down low in the future. Yeah, Saric won’t come over for 2 or 3 years but that’s why Embiid is there as well. If Saric never ends up coming over, then you have Embiid and Noel instead. Twin Towers in Philly, I like the idea. (Better then what I was originally thinking in Vonleh and Noel, I was originally on board with Vonleh over Embiid but now I’m starting to have second thoughts) Its even possible that Noel, Embiid, and Saric all work out and all 3 guys are in the starting lineup with Saric playing the 3, Noel at the 4 and Embiid at the 5.

I think in the end Saric will come over. It might be next year or 2 or 3 years down the line, but he will come over to the NBA. He is not staying in Europe his entire career. His dream all along was to make it to the NBA not stay pro internationally instead. Yeah his dad will be a big influence to him, but I think his agent and himself end up winning in the argument somewhere down the line. If he ended up slipping to like the 20th pick (like Motiejunas did in 2012, I think it was) then he probably would stay in Europe his entire career but now that he went in the lottery instead, he is definitely coming over eventually.

Then in the second round the Sixers picked up great defensive players in McDaniels and Grant. Wasn’t too ecstatic about the Russ Smith pick but it sounds like he was traded to the Pelicans for Pierre Jackson who, imo, is very similar to Smith in the end. So nor am I too ectstatic about that trade. Then with their two late second round picks they get 2 draft and stash players. I thought they would do that. (I actually picked one of them in my mock too! Dangubic) But then I heard that the Sixers traded those two players to the Spurs for their picks at 58 and 60 instead. (can’t remember who they were but I’ll find out soon enough)

The Sixers are two years away from being two years away to steal a line. Being really bad is no assured way of becoming good. This is still a league with 8 title winning teams in the last 30 years. Wouldn’t the results be different if this was in fact true? People want to believe that they can outsmart the world. It just isn’t the case. Nerlens Noel is still 6′ 11″ and in the 220 lbs. range, and at last check did not have an offensive game. Joel Embiid is no longer the biggest player on the court, and in addition to getting and staying healthy is going to have to pack on weight to play the center spot in the NBA. I like Dario Saric, and am willing to be wrong on him if he doesn’t work out, but let us see how he does going from the Adriatic League to Turkey and the Euroleague. K.J. McDaniels could very well get on the floor and play for them, but part of that is that in order to lose 115-85, somebody has to help get them to 85. Philadelphia ended the season with a roster that was not playing basketball that is representative of the NBA. OKC was built after a complete teardown, but they are not the only ones who has tried. If you look at teams like Cleveland post-LeBron, Minnesota post-Garnett/Spree/Cassell, Sacramento post-Webber/Peja/Bibby, it is easy to see how a team can really go nowhere for the better part of a decade. Cleveland had six first round picks and four in the top four since LeBron left prior to last night. They now have five top four picks on their roster. Minnesota has had nine first round picks and five top six picks since Garnett left. Since 2007, Sacramento has had ten first round picks and seven top ten picks. The difference is that only one of those franchises landed Kevin Durant. While I am holding out hope for Bruno and crossing my fingers for Toronto, he is not the kind of guy who comes along every year.
