    Less than 100 days away before the 2014 draft, and the closer we get to it, the more I get excited about the future make up of this team as a fan.  An also, what can realistically happen for them being in the draft position that they’re projected to be in, as of today.  Does anyone agree with the 2 possible exciting identities of this team for the forseeable future, as below.  Or, if there’s another lineup that you’d rather have, then please feel free to share here.

    POSSIBILITY #1:

    * Thad Young (PF)

    * Doug McDurmott (SF)

    * Nerlens Noel (C)

    * Andrew Wiggins (SG)

    * MCW (PG)

    POSSIBILITY #2:

    * Thad Young (PF)

    * TJ Warren (SF)

    * Nerlens Noel (C)

    * Andrew Wiggins (SG)

    * MCW (PG)

    Either one of these starting lineups should fulfill all your defensive, wing-players, franchise players (because I really think that with Possibility #2, you’ve got youself your next T-Mac and Paul Pierce, growing together, and playing on the same team), and definitely scoring needs.

    Go (future) Sixers !!!

    i would like #1 over #2 because mcdermott’s game works better for floor spacing.  warren, wiggins and mcw all are better at penetrating than jump shooting so i think all them on the court would create a log jam.

    i still think wiggins is going #1 and if the bucks continue to outtank the sixers and get the #1, don’t think wiggins will be around.  so on mine, insert jabari parker into the 3 and then go with either harris or lavine.  my guess is harris won’t be around though.  if they go lavine, i would make a hard push for lance stephenson in free agency.  if harris is around, make a strong push for greg monroe in free agency.

     Can anyone remember off hand how much more of a potential advantage for getting the number 1 pick the worst record team has over the second-worst team record?

    I’ve looked at lottery stats. for the last 8 years.

    Believe it or not the top 2 teams (most ping pong balls) have NOT won the #1 pick in ANY of the last 8 years.

    The worst team got the #2 pick 4 times.

    The 2nd worst team got the #2 pick 1 time.

    I hate to be a kill-joy, but for the last 8 lottos here is where the team with 2nd most ping pong balls ended up :

    2nd – 1 time

    3rd – 1 time

    4th – 4 times

    5th – 2 times

    So………keep your mock drafts flexible !

    Wiggins Lavine or Wiggins McDermott.  Parker Lavine works too.

    The good question is what if the Sixers dont’ get that 1 or 2, as Burgess points out.

    I’d rather they get Exum and get McDermott……….. or go Vonleh and get Lavine.

    I honeslty don’t want Randle or Smart.  Let’s hope for the worst Sixer pick being at 4.  Who would you take at 4?

     That tells me that the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd pick are due to get the 1st pick.  I imagine over time it all balances out and in a large enough sample the worst team should have the first pick the majority of the time.  That is why I think that.  With that being said that is also why it is the lottery baby! I would love for the Lakers to end up in that 4 spot.

    The 2nd worst team has a less than 40% chance to get one of the top 2 picks. I wouldn’t bet on anything with a 40% chance of winning, would you?

    If they end up with the 4th pick I think they almost have to take Randle or Vonleh. Exum scares me. Smart’s position is taken by MCW. If they’re not in love with either of the PF’s maybe they trade down to 6 knowing one of them will pretty likely be there. If they get one of the PF’s I see them drafting 3 more guys for next years roster and they’ll probably all be
    SG’s or SF’s. Maybe they’ll use the other 3 second rounders on moving up, stashing players or moving for 2’s in 2015/2016.

    That said, I sure hope they one of Wiggins, Parker, Embiid.

    If they took Wiggins than Lavine or McDermott they could just load up on big men in round 2. Would also like to see them
    end up with Payne. I know he isn’t a flat out stud, but every time I see him play he seems to really affect the game. And he plays like he’s pissed off, I like that from my PF.
