If the sixers draft Simmons which i think they will, they should seriously consider trading Okafor to Boston for the 3rd pick and the 16th if they can get it, just the 3rd is not enough for Okafor.

If they can pull off this trade i think this makes a lot of sense to draft Buddy at 3 instead of Dunn and Murray. Heres why, Dunn who i really like a lot especially his size and defensive ability. But i think you need to give Simmons the ball and play through him his rookie year and see what he’s capable of, instead of him sharing the ball with a rookie point. And with 2017 draft possibly being so deep especially with point guards, i would take a shot at a point next year once you know what youve got with Simmons.

And Murray who i think could possibly turn out better than Buddy, i dont think would gel as well long term as Buddy would because Murray who would play the 2 in the NBA is to ball dominant. If you have Simmons, Murray and a future point from next years draft there won’t be enough touches to go around and the chemistry would break down especially with young players.

But if they can get Buddy and Simmons i think would work really well, you can have Buddy operating off the ball off cuts, pin downs, ball screens etc and Simmons working from the high or low post and pick and rolls. They would complement each other extremely well, Simmons would get Buddy plenty of looks.

The Sixers would look a lot more balanced with Simmons at the 4 playing a point forward roll, Buddy at the 2, Noel at the 5 who would benfit from Simmons as well. Covington at the 3 stretching the floor and helping with spacing and Ish at the 1. Plus Embiid and Saric next year won’t hurt either.

Maybe a 20 to 25 win season, but another lottery pick plus another year of seasoning should see the Sixers back in the playoffs really soon.

It would be better to draft Murray who has PG skills and can run the point when Simmons is out.  You also need to have someone who can guard the PG on the other team.

Building a team takes years, to get the right pieces in place, im not to worried about the bench right now, that will come. If you take Murray who is a combo guard not a point, you’ll need an defensive mind point who can shoot the ball and spread the floor for Simmons and Murray to operate. Murray isnt guarding points at the next level.

Thats why i think you take Buddy, go for a 1 next year when its stacked and hopefully you get an all star caliber point to join Simmons and Buddy.

This trade needs to be made.  Makes too much sense for both teams.  I just worry sixers will mess it up by asking more than #3, #16.  I also agreed that Murray would be a better choice because maybe we already seen the ceiling for buddy hied?

For celtics, getting okafor would go along way to making them more attractive to Kevin Durant when he becomes Ufa after 2017.

One KD is unrestricted this summer, Two asking for more than 3 and 16 for someone whose already proven they can score 20 a night on a bad season in which he was double teamed and played with no guard that could feed him the ball for someone who has proven nothing is not far fetched its mandatory. The Celtics NEED okafor more than we need that third pick period. The celtics with Okafor adds a dynamic to their team that they don’t have and with stevens as their coach MAN. not to mention the free agents they could attract.

But I doubt he would be putting up 20pts a night on the Celtics. IT would still be the first option and Bradly the second option at the SG. Prbly be close, he would have to share with other stars is all.

Plus Simmons is the Future of the Sixers. They want to have a team that fits around him well from day one. So I think the 76ers want a good guard to help him.

         1.  Kd will resign for two years with player option.  Makes 100 % sense.

        2.  Oka for #3,16 and another player like rozier or hunter makes sense.  My fear is that sixers will ask for #3, 16, next year’s Brooklyn pick and maybe another player.  If that is case, I hipe ainge will give them the middle finger!

The Sixers need to see what they have in Simmons before trying to find their long-term point guard. Depending on how ball dominant Simmons is will dictate what type of PG they need.

a 19 y/o that you can Mark down for 20 pts Every night is a Rare quality Indizzldy-deed……. So Phila MUST get Value…….. Equal Value……

And no Matter How much any of us like Murray, Dunn or Hield……… draft picks are an Unknown Commodity……

So I would ASK for Marcus Smart in that Deal…… Smart can Not shoot a lick but he is a Physical BEAST on Defense……

Murray & Smart giives Phila an Instant NBA level back-court……. (& if you like Hield better plug in Hield)……..

But a Starting 5 of 6’5” Smart (PG); 6’5” J.Murray (SG); 6’10" Dario Saric (SF); 6’10" Ben Sizzle-Simmons (PF) & 7’2” Joel Embiid (C)……. W/ Noel (C/PF) & Jerami Grant (SF) coming off the bench as Defensive Stoppers…… ALL 7 19 – 22 years old! …… Sign a Free Agent PG like Augustine or Lynnsanity & keep Veteran PF/C Carl Landry……..

Good Lawd NOW Philly is "Cookin Wit Chicken Grease!…." ……. That is a Really Versatile, Very Exciting Core……. & they Still have 2 Lottery Picks in 2017 & Multiple 1st round picks in 2018 & 2019…….

Okafor is an Exciting Talent….. but Phila could get a Sweet Young Back-Court Instantly…….. so it would be a Win – Win for Phila & Boston…….. which is how a Trade Should be………..

There is no way I would trade Smart and the 3rd pick. Smart is coming into his game now and is a borderline all star next year. Smart for Okafor is an even trade without the 3rd pick involved. Maybe 23rd pick.

Smart averaged 9 points a game last year. He is stuck behind Thomas and Bradley who are both superior shooters…unless one of them gets hurt he has no chance of being an all star in Boston…now in Philly there would be a chance but it will still take time.

Okafor averaged more in his rookie year than Smart combined to average in his first two seasons. I know Smart is a great defender and Okafor is not but offense is still more valued than defense in the NBA. I don’t think that is an even trade at all straight up. I think Smart and the 3rd pick may be a little much but if the Sixers threw in one of their future picks (even though Boston has a bevy of picks anyway thanks to Billy King) perhaps it could get done.

I think a more realistic deal would be centered around the 3rd pick and include Rozier and James Young. Those guys aren’t getting many minutes in Boston with their loaded backcourt anyway so if the Sixers could add another guard like Jamal Murray it would be a massive upgrade for their team.

Okafor is a major talent and is primed to be a 20-10 guy in a another year or two. You have to get more than a PG who can’t shoot in return. Smart shot 25% from three last season and for some unknown reason has shot more 3’s than 2’s in his NBA career. Smart is a nice player with a lot of potential yet himself but he doesn’t fit well next to Simmons with his lack of shooting.

They need a PG who can space the floor which while Jamal Murray isn’t considered a true PG by many he would be a perfect PG to play with Simmons spotting up for open shots and not having to be the main playmaker. I would much rather have the 3rd pick and get a guard that can shoot than trade for Smart.

Rozier ready to step into that back up role behind Bradley & Isaiah Thomas…….. Marcus Smart is a 25% – 3 pt shooter – these are WIDE OPEN 3 pt shots…….

He shoots 34% overall & Avg 9 pts a game! & he’s in a 3 guard rotation where he does Not even start……. AND he is 3 years Older than Okafor……

Did you really just say "Smart is coming into his own & No way I would trade him & that he is a Borderline All Star…." ????? ……….. You can’t be serious…….

& Okafor – who is Still only 19 years old & Right Now is a Book it 20 point a night Big who Commands a Double Team Every time he touches the ball & will create Tons of space for Isaiah Thomas & your other players -……… Phila could Not even Utilize Okafor’s True advantages b/c they had D-Leaguers playing the other 4 positions……..

If I was Danny Aigne & Phila called w/ that offer ….. (#3 pick &  22 y/o Brick Laying Marcus Smart) for 19 y/o 6’11” 275 lbs Okafor…….. I would RUN to my car, throw Smart in the Trunk & DRIVE hime the 7 hours South to Phila……….. Okafor’s Rookie stats are Way better than Boogie Cousins…….. Can u even Imagine what a Beast this kid Okafor will be on a really good Boston club 3 years from now …….. when he is Just turning the same age Smart is right Now……..
