I May Be WrongParticipantWell don’t look now but the Sixers rallied back from being down 8 at half (when Chicago headed in the break making 10-12 shots and had all momentum) and now the Sixers are up 5!
Most impressive player tonight – JRUE HOLIDAY! Finally showing up big time in a big game!

aamir543ParticipantAt the begining of the series, I said that this had to be Evan Turner’s coming out party for the Sixers to have even a remote chance in this series, and he is doing just that, they need to make Turner the primary ball handler along with Holliday, and use Lou Williams off the ball coming off screens, that way it’ll open up more dribble drive lanes for Lou.

IndianaBasketballParticipantWithout Derrick Rose, the Bulls are just a team full of role players.
Can they even get an open shot without Rose on the floor? People say Rose is over credited… I say he doesn’t get enough. A lot of these guys eat because of the attention Rose draws. He makes his team better and it goes beyond just his assists.

I May Be WrongParticipantDamn what the hell happened when I created this lol.
But @aamir, yeah man ET talked his sh*t before the game. What I really wanted to see was if he’d be able to back that up and after a 12 and 5 in game 1, he’s really going at it against Chicago with 17 points and counting. He’s making up for the lack of scoring Iggy "should" bring (although Iggy had some great dunks). This is a very good step in his maturation as a future starter for this team.
@Indiana – I dunno man, the Bulls were in it in the first half. They were definitely the better team and out performing the Sixers late in that half to gain some momentum. Yes, Rose draws a lot of attention but the Bulls are still 10 deep. (Sixers are deep too) but the Bulls have an All-star forward in Deng, a PF who doesn’t play defense but can score with the best of them in Boozer, a center who was dominating Spencer Hawes and Lavoy Allen in Noah. The Bobcats are just a bunch of role players lol. The Bulls without Rose are still a solid team who will compete. Philly deserves some credit for their defense tonight…just my two cents

IndianaBasketballParticipantThibs will have them competing hard. They’ll still defend, rebound and move the ball.
Deng is a very good two way player, but he can’t create his own offense. Boozer is still a good offensive player, but he’s not the player he was in Utah. I actually like Gibson a little better. Noah is a very good role player, but not a star or something. Hamilton isn’t the same player he was in Detroit. Everbody else like Asik, Watson, Brewer, Lucas, Korver… They just play a role.
The playoffs will determine just how important Rose is to this team, not the regular season. IF the Bulls are as good as people think they are without Rose, then they should still get past the 76ers.

aamir543ParticipantI May Be Wrong, the Bobcats don’t have a single guy that would be in any of the contender’s rotations. Maybe Corey Maggete, but probably not, and Gerald Henderson is a good stats on a bad team guy, he’s not that great.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantSpeaking of the Bulls, does anybody think if they’ll be able to keep guys like Taj Gibson and Omar Asik when their contracts expire? With guys like Rose, Boozer, Deng, and Noah making huge money, how will they pay Gibson and Asik?

aamir543Participant^Yes, but only if they amnesty Booz.

I May Be WrongParticipantVery true IB, these playoffs will determine the importance that Rose has. Suppose Philly wins the next 3 games in convincing fashion, then I’ll have to agree with you. In all honesty, I had this as a 6 game series favoring the Bulls prior to the Rose injury but this could be stretched out to a 7 game series now. We’ll see how the Bulls respond on the road in game 3 on Friday.
@Aamir – lol I mean I know the Bobkittens are bad but I could still see DJ Augustine as a role player on the Heat or something. I know a lot of contending teams wouldn’t mind a sparkplug like Kemba Walker. Umm, Biyombo could be a solid back up to Andrew Bynum lol. I dunno, I’m just making up situations but I can see a few pieces to keep on the Bobcats. But definetly not Matt Carroll, Desangna Diop, or the others haha
@Tongue – I also wondered about this. Is the owner committed to keeping these bulls in tact and having to go into the luxury range. I think Brewer and Korver’s contract are done after next season so that would be a 10 million saving. Gibson and Asik – I have them both pegged around starting at $6 million a year. Some team will offer that. Weather or not Chicago matches is unknown IMO but they got some husky contracts with Deng, Boozer, and Noah locked up for the next few seasons.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantTheir strength is their depth, I don’t know how they’ll be able to pay guys like Brewer, Korver, Gibson and Asik. Even if they amnesty Boozer, will they be able to match contracts that would be given to Gibson and Asik? I believe they’re restricted F/A and we know some teams will pay good money to have these kind of guys on their team.

the microwaveParticipantother than john lucas spurt at end of 1st half.. Where the bulls reeled off 11 straight pts going into halftime, i felt philly controlled the game in full… sixers defense was sifling, and Lavoy Allen played fantastic.. Everyone is talking about ET, jrue, thad, lou, and iggy, but rebounding is where the bulls generally kill philly. I take my hat off to the #50 pick in the draft.. Lavoy Allen was a huge Key to that game, and victory!

dede21Aamir you are wrong Augustin would start at PG for most contenders Heat, Bulls, Lakers. Henderson would start for the Bulls and Spurs and and play for everyone he is a good all around player just not a #1 option which he is for the Bobcats but he can score against mismatches because he is a great athlete and play a good all around game. Brown, Maggette, Mullens are borderline

aamir543Participant^What? You are so off, Henderson does not sneak into ANYONE’S rotation. 15 points on a 7 win team with sub-par defense would not get him in over Matt Barnes, Shane aBattier, Stephen Jackson, or a helthy Ray Allen. Kemba and DJ would split time with Chalmers. Augustine would backup Ramon Sessions, but Kemba would not play over Steve Blake, the Lakers would choose Blake’s shooting over Kemba’s 36% from the field, give me Watson backing up a healthy D-Rose, no doubt Thibs would choose teh defensive Watson over Augustine, neither sniff the Celt’s rotation, and Augustine would back up Russ Wetbrook on OKC. Bismack Biyombo would see the court every other game, even on the Lakers, Henderson at most would get 10-15 on a contender, and that’s being generous, and the only reason anyone would play Maggete is his ability to get to the line. And it’s not like Augustin was any good during the season, he shot 37% from the field.
