negguaryParticipantSign Jared bayless 3yr 27 mill….I just feel like why not take a shot on Seth if you gone give him 9 mil a year. But on the bright side it’s only three years.

ZarathustraParticipantIs Bayless there to play a "mario chalmers PG role"with Simmons handling the ball ?
27M for 3 years is a good contract,definitely.

benny15ParticipantI think Bayless is there to play the role he’s been playing past couple of years next to Giannis.

SubZeroParticipantYeah I don’t see him (or anyone else on that roster right now) handling the ball more than Simmons when he’s on the court. He can at least bring some needed shooting and take pressure off their big guys

TrillaParticipanthes a vet. Decent shooter, kinda the pseudo point guard that can play with Simmons. It’s pretty good value for essentially a back up and it allows them to continue to seek out their true starting point guard. The contract can also easily be moved in a trade, not bad Colangelo

RUDEBOY_Participantshows how bad the 76’ers guards are, when bayless is their best backcourt player…

jonwangcbParticipantWhat is it about Ish Smith that they didn’t like? He can’t really shoot, but he’s a much better distributor than Bayless. Bayless’ D is better than Smith’s but 3MM per year better? Seems like a bad move.

vulture711Participantslated to be the primary initiator of the offense, makes more sense to have a guy who can bring it up then space the floor like BJ Armstrong on the Jordan Bulls then a guy like Ish who can penetrate but can’t shoot

HobbyOGParticipantGood pick up for them, they need some vets. Can’t see too many vets going to Philly if they want to win.

220ParticipantA guard like Jared Bayless was in my opinion the perfect compliment to guys like Ben Simmons and Dario Saric. He’s at the point guard spot, but he won’t dominate the ball and he excels in catch and shoot from range. He also provides a younger veteran for leadership on this incredibly young team while also contributing on the court.

DanielcmccartyParticipantBayless is an 8 year vet. He will be solid for the Sixers and that’s a good start to sign a couple veterans to mix with the young guys. He also shot 43.7% from deep last year. So with all of the bigs on the sixers roster, some 3pt shooting to space the floor is obviously really important.

Hype MachineI read through a thousand hypothetical Sixers trade and FA scenarios and all they get is Bayless at the expense of Ish?
Draft Grade: A
Trade grade: D
Free Agency Grade: D+

HitsterParticipantBayless gives them backcourt shooting and helps spread the play which could be a major factor for them if they get Embiid playing to his potential.
I’ll be interested to see Simmons as the main ball carrier and a point forward. On offence he can almost be positionless as he can create or make his own shot. I’d be interested to see where he fits in on defence, does he have the speed to guard SFs.

Jerrell7ParticipantI think the sixers are gonna make a big trade. You don’t really believe this is it do you? In less than 2 weeks we are gonna be talking about the crazy trade they pulled. For now I reserve judgement.
